“Jade a real gem”
Reviewed 6 April 2013

This is a very charming boutique hotel that is a nice escape from bustling mid-town high-rise hotels. Our room was small, but clean and well-appointed. The restaurant is inviting with its fireplace and wood floors, and the food and cocktails we had were excellent. The Jade is in a perfect location if you want to be near The Village, but also not too far from SoHo. We will definitely stay at this hotel again on our next visit to New York City.

We chose this hotel to try something new in the city. We usually stay in a chain with a good reputation. When our taxi driver dropped us off, he wasn't sure where the hotel was. We walked by it twice, pulling luggage behind us. There is no sign on the door or building. There is a hotel restaurant menu board outside, and I stopped to read it and realized that the hotel had a restaurant by the same name. We went inside, down the stairs to the small but stylish lobby. I checked us in and received our keys. We were on the 6th floor and waiting sometimes 5 minutes or more for the elevators. Only one of our two keys worked. I returned to desk to get the keys fixed, which she thought she did, but it happened again. The rooms are the smallest rooms I have ever seen in the city. We asked for a king bed and had to full sized beds. Just a tad bigger than a twin bed. There is a small armoire and desk chair combo. The bathroom was also small without any counter space. The room was clean, but throughout the night we kept smelling food being cooked. But, not in a pleasant way and not when you'd expect to smell food cooking. Not sure if their ventilation system from their kitchen gets pumped into the rooms but it was very strong. We paid over 450.00 a night to stay here, but it was not worth that kind of money. We have paid less at much better places in the city. This is a brand new hotel, but the hallways already show signs of aging. I think they need to work out some kinks and lower their rates to succeed.

Friendly staff welcomed us to this nice small hotel between 5th and 6th Avenue. Ideally located in the middle of manhattan. I asked for a quiet room when I booked and got one which is quite something in NYC. The hotel is fairly new and nice. A bit quirky but I suppose you get that when you check their website. The restaurant is pretty good too offering a nice choice. Definitely worth considering when visiting.

We have been going to NYC for 15 years and this was the best hotel experience! The staff are amazing making you feel special..so helpful and nice. Great old NY feel but with all new beautiful amenities. Cool like the Gramercy Park Hotel but without any stuffiness. The staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The location is superb especially if you like the West Village but also convenient to the subway and path train. Bar and restaurant are great too.

Chances are if you had your children after 1995, they have never seen a rotary dialed phone. Well if you would like an opportunity to instruct them on the good old days (when you dreaded calling that friend with lots of 0's or 9's in their number!!) this is the place to stay! It's sparkling new, beautifully decorated in retro furnishings that includes an old 40's style, rotary phone with a 1 lb. metal receiver. What a kick! The bathroom was ultra modern though and the bedding was perfect for a good night's rest. The room was well insulated and our view was magnificent - The Empire State Building. The staff was warm and friendly - highly recommend if you are touring NYU with your college bound students.

This hotel is to be congratulated on its decor, staff, comfort, cleanliness and location. What a gem!
It's on W13th and easy walking to a host of attractions. It is small - a real boutique feel - but beautifully put together and opposite the original Macy's building. I highly recommend it, particularly if you prefer small and elegant rather than big and brash!

Room Tip: I gather from the staff that the tariff changes on a daily basis so be careful about the price - we...

I was 7 days in the New Jade Hotel in greenwich Village. What can I say. Clean Hotel, Amazing people works there, beautiful place, near to 6th av where you can take easily subway or bus, in the heart of the great city!!!
I normally stays in medium price hotels in NYC, rates like Jade, and comparing is hard to find that kind of clean and nice rooms in the City. the restaurant - bar is good too, I like everything in this hotel. They should speed up the elevators, sometimes are too slow, but that can be easily change.
