Stayed here Feb 27th - March 2nd! This hotel was really in an ideal location walk to Penn Station, Empire State Building, Macys or hail the many cabs on 8th Ave. Room was more spacious than I thought it would be and was nicely decorated. Clean and Crisp! This hotel is fairly new or recently updated. The staff at front desk were cordial. Only complaints are that the hot water could have been a little hotter and the breakfast room needs trays and bacon, lol!

Room Tip: A higher floor may give you more views!

Stayed there this past weekend and was certainly not disappointed. The Hotel is conveniently located across the street from Madison Square Garden and the Post Office. You can walk to the ACE train entrance in less then a minute or walk across the street to Penn Station.

The rooms are very spacious for NYC and the bed was soooooo comfortable as well as the pillows. The staff was very helpful with either directions or personal request. The breakfast had great selections of items both warm and cold.

I absolutely loved this hotel and would recommend it to anyone looking to have a nice stay while in NYC!

I was in NY for the NYT Travel show and coming into the city via Amtrak, I so was looking for something close to Penn Station. This hotel is the newest of the Marriott chain in NYC, and only a half a block away from Penn Station. It is central to many other places. The rooms were clean, beds were comfortable, and it was quiet! On top of all this good luck, the gratis breakfast was excellent along with decent coffee.
It has a decent work out room (although my schedule did not allow time to try it out).
The staff was friendly and helpful and there was no problem with storing our bags before and after check-out.
If you are looking for convenience, cleanliness, comfortable beds, good breakfast, friendly staff, along with modest room rate, then this Fairfield Inn @ 325 W. 33rd Street is a good bet.

Room Tip: Well, were on the 10th floor and did not have any issues with noise. The hotel was nearly completely booked and judging by those riding the elevators and in the breakfast room, there were many high school students staying here the same night as us (some kind of a convention for them). Somehow, we escaped any noise! We were on the south side of the building overlooking the main branch of the NYC Post Office.

I stayed here on February 28th for business and it proved to be a great choice especially if arriving by train into New York’s Penn Station. It’s only ½ block walk down 33rd Ave between 8th and 9th. If you have to take a taxi to your business or event it is an excellent value for what you get.

The lobby is very light and sunny and welcoming with lots of chairs and sofas to relax and WIFI is free.

Our room on the 20th floor was small but typical of New York standards. It had a small closet with a large safe and iron & board. There was only one drawer, which is a bit odd if you were there for longer than 2 days, but the desk was good with lots of outlets for electronics, and the desk chair was comfortable. Where the other drawers should have been was an ottoman on wheels.

The bathroom was fine but fits only one person at a time.
A buffet breakfast is included in the price of the room and there were a good variety of things to eat from scrambled eggs to yogurts and cereals. If the weather is good there is a nice outdoor area to enjoy a breakfast outside.

Also in nicer weather they open up a bar on the rooftop! The view from up there was great.

Reception was friendly and the concierge recommended a restaurant for lunch that was exactly what we had in mind.

I recommend a stay here next time you are in New York.

Room Tip: Get a higher room for a possible view and quiet.

So very pleasantly surprised at the quality of this property... spacious and very comfortable and well-equipped room, delicious and abundant breakfast buffet, great location for enjoying NYC. Helpful and friendly staff too, and a great rate for NYC - we'll be back!
About 20 years ago we stayed in a Fairfield Inn in Vermont, and were so disappointed with the quality of the property (I remember thinking - how can Marriott claim this as one of their properties!!?) that since that time we have refused to stay in another Fairfield Inn. Well this was a very last minute trip, and we chose this hotel for it's location (easy access from the DC-NYC bus and the Javits center - the NY Times Travel show) thinking that if it were a big disappointment we wouldn't be spending much time in the room anyway. Well it has completely changed our opionion of Fairfield Inns, and we won't hesitate to chose one on our future trips. Thanks, Marriott, for a great experience and stay!
