Great location; friendly/helpful/courteous staff; very clean. ALL of the staff we met were extremely helpful and friendly. Lou, the concierge, has great tips for sightseeing. The breakfast choices were great - hot eggs, bacon/sausage, hot oatmeal, cereal, pastries, fruit, coffee, tea, juices, milk, etc. We spent 4 days during the week - well stocked each and every day we were there - and we went at varying times each morning. Breakfast room in on the floor below the lobby. Rooms are small (but you're in NYC and this is normal for this price range) but very clean and well-kept/decorated (FYI: no tub, just shower but it's large and very nice/clean). We were on the 8th floor and there is some outside noise, but, again, you're in NYC - the city that never sleeps! If you must have complete silence to sleep, there is a CVS a couple of blocks up (5th & 38th) and they sell earplugs! We arrived early to check-in and they will hold your baggage for you until your room is ready. Also, check-out time is 11 am, and if your train/flight is leaving later (ours left at 3 pm), they will hold your baggage for you as well, free of charge (tips are appreciated). We returned at 230 to pick up our bags which were promptly retrieved. Location is great - VERY close to the Empire State Building, Macy's, and subway stops - the front desk will help with subway questions and give you a map. There is free cold water, tea and coffee available in the lobby all day. This was the first time I took my children into the city (10 and 14 years old), and we felt very comfortable and safe at this hotel. They enjoyed it as much as I did. We will be back soon and we will definitely stay here again!

My family and I recently spent a night at this hotel. Everything about it was excellent. The location is perfect. Many attractions are within walking distance and the herald square subway station is also close by. The staff was unbelievably helpful and friendly. The rooms are small, as are most in New York, but they make very good use of space. The bathrooms, especially the showers, are surprisingly large. The prices are also very reasonable for Manhattan. We will definitely stay at this hotel again the next time we visit New York.

People say excellent location : every midtown hotel between 4th & 8th has a great location, thx to NYC Subway
Poor breakfast, no variance, little choices, plastic plates and cups
When arriving later (but still in time 8 15). Almost everything was gone when i asked to replenish fruit and bagels, staff Said it was on first come first served base
Very small rooms for the paid price
streetside rooms poor sound insulation : noise from street and elevator, other rooms all night long.
Friendly staff ... but don t solve real problems

Room Tip: Take annother hotel

We picked this hotel for two reasons: Best Western rewards points and it's close to my son's college. For the location - you can walk to Times Square, Bryant Park, Empire State Building, Penn Station and Madison Square Garden - the price is very reasonable. The hotel is small, like many in the area, with just six rooms per floor and about 17 floors. thus, the rooms are quite small. But you'll be greeted with a nice clean smell, a modern look and all the amenities.

The front desk staff is very friendly and helpful, especially Laura J. And the lobby always had fresh coffee and ice water available. Go ahead and take advantage of the free breakfast, since you'll drop quite a few coins eating dinner out on the town. The breakfast selection includes a nice buffet with the usual eggs, sausage and oatmeal, but they mix it up a bit each day. If you like to sleep late you'll be fighting the crowd for a seat in the dining room.

To end my UK brother&family's vacation to the US, we decided to close with a visit to NYC...and we could not be happier with my selection of the Best Western Premier. From my first phone inquiry regarding rooms and availability, to being politely greeted at our arrival and check-in, and culminating in a delightful yet all to brief stay, the staff was always personable, attentive, considerate, and mindful of their guests.
The rooms' green/purplish décor may be somewhat modernistic but I think it fits well given the hotels short 2yr existence...defiantly not boring and dated. There is no denying that the room size may suffer from some economy of scale, but they are all clean, comfortable, stocked with amenities, and very inviting. Those same words also apply to the bathroom, but I must also note that I truly adored the adjustable shower...could only wish to have one in my home.
This hotel offered all of the associated comforts and benefits of many of the large upper class chains, but seemed to provide them in a more homey manner. They offer a concierge service, weight room, complimentary refreshments, and quaint in-house bar, unfortunately it is only open until 11pm. In trying to find a more family friendly hotel another truly appreciative nicety provided with our stay was the free and quite delectable breakfast buffet, which only saved $$ and time in planning our days' NYC activities.
I could probably continue with a few more paragraphs given my delight of this hotel(having not even touched on its central location & convenience), however doing so would only make my previous words seem redundant. In truth I second guessed even leaving this glowing recommendation for fear that this little gem in the city might be consumed by the masses, leaving me with some concern should I find my way back to NYC.

Great Stay,
K. Gary P.

Two adults and two teenagers in a double room was tight, no doubt about it. Smallest hotel room I have ever seen but it is NY and they say they are all small. Great location. Easy walk to Times Square and Broadway. Subway station nearby and Amtrak station only a few blocks away. Good bar across the street (Irish bar of some kind). Tio Pio restaurant next door not worth it. Too many good places to eat in NY. VERY friendly front desk staff and kitchen staff in free breakfast area. Decent free breakfast with hot stuff that rotated daily. Felt safe walking between times square and this hotel at night.

Very nice room, very close to times square and all the action. my biggest complaint is the rooms are Extremely! small but your in new York! so if traveling with family pack light because there is barely any room for your luggage in the room. Also, the bathroom was very small but clean, fresh. I Would Stay here Again.
