Owner description: MOTOWN: THE MUSICAL is the real story of the one-of-a-kind sound that hit the airwaves in 1959 and changed our culture forever. This exhilarating show charts Motown Founder Berry Gordy's incredible journey from featherweight boxer to the heavyweight music mogul who launched the careers of Diana Ross, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson, Marvin Gaye, and so many more.

If you like Motown, you can't go wrong with tickets to this show. You will know every song and be wishing for more when it is over. All of the performers were wonderful. I have seen it twice.

Expected great music and was not disappointed. Felt like a concert and a Broadway show at the same time. Some of the actors were dead ringers in appearance and voice to the Motown greats.

Story line gives a "behind the scenes" of the life of Barry Gordy and Motown that few are aware of.

Overall a great experience. Plan to see it again.

Loved it. The casting for this show is incredible. The actor that played Ed Sullivan looked like him, same with the others like, the character that played Michael Jackson, smokey Robinson. It was just fabulous. The story was very well put together but not long enough where you start to get bored. Music was awesome. It's a must see.

Motown the Musical had a great cast and we already were expecting great music and we were not disappointed. We saw the show while it was still in the preview stage in March of 2013, and it played to a packed house. The story followed Motown founder, Berry Gordy and his meteoric rise in the music industry. Along the way, he partnered with Smokey Robinson, hired the Supremes and a young Stevie Wonder. Motown was a hit factory and along the way he created the soundtrack to many lives. The singing was top notch with a very memorable performance by the original actress who played Diana Ross. I felt like I was watching Ms. Ross herself! This musical is a must see for Motown music lovers as well as people who are not familiar with the Motown Sound. The show is embarking on a National Tour so if you are not able to see it in NY, please check your local area for dates. It is a show I will not soon forget!
