Sadly I wasn't staying at the Royalton, but popped in here for an after show cocktail and ended up having a few more and some food. Great service from Amy who made me some very tasty off-menu drinks.

I'll be back, and maybe even stay at the hotel next time too.

Thank Chistery

In the lobby of the Royalton, 44 is a great place to unwind with a cocktail and great food. I had the tuna tartare appetizer and it was beyond delicious! Highly recommend. Bar drinks are NOT cheap!

We went to this bar after hearing about it last year for hot Toddys.

The cocktails are around $16 each but they're pretty strong and the atmosphere is great, very Don Draper if you fancy getting your mad men on any time soon.

The staff were very friendly and considering the high end feel it didn't feel pretentious.

You could almost miss this place as it is tucked away in the lobby of the Royalton Hotel. The food was excellent and the service impeccable. Highly recommended for a first-time guest to New York. I went for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed the food. The decor and ambiance would be twice as nice in the evening.

Kudos to the management and staff.

We only stayed for one drink. The bartender was so obviously and incredibly high on coke that he sucked the energy out of us and we all left shocked that he was allowed to serve the public in that state of mind. I felt bad for him and it ruined our time. No wonder the bar was totally and completely vacant on a Saturday night after the shows let out at 10:30. He just couldn't help but talk 100 miles per hour about nonsense and his life and his experiences and his this and his that and man oh man. My head was about to explode for him! Never again. In NYC there are just way to many places to go to ever try that place again. If you read this get help man, there is no need to go through life like that. Cool looking place though, shame it was empty.
