Ranked #552 of 660 Tours in New York City

1. Price is not real. Although their list price is low, we need to pay for the ticket price for every place they take you. Although they have a price list online, it is not correct cuz they will tell you the ticket price is more expensive this year than last year for majority of the places they take you. If you sign up for every sight, you will pay extra $500 more (based on the trip to canada)

2. Hotel is not as what they said. Although we are living in Sheraton/hilton level hotel, these are the ones far away. Ex: in NYC, they signed up for the hotel in NJ, not Hoboken district, it is about 1 hr drive from Hoboken. In Toronto, the hotel is almost at the city boundary. In Montreal, the hotel is in deummondville

3. They only take you to the place that they can make profits. And even at there, we cannot stay very long. Ex: NYC night tour ($25 extra), we did not even have time to walk 3 more blocks

4. Their altitude is VERY BAD.
For example, my tour guide named Patrick, he always threatens customers like " if u do not like it, you can quit, but I am not gonna refund you anything" "why our company is so cheap, we still need to make profit for some sights then we can make money" he knows most of the customers are Chinese, and they cannot speak good English, so they have no choice but to follow him
4. Not professional. For some sights, they mislead people to do some useless thing. Ex: in PA, or Ottawa, when we reached the place, he told customer to take restroom + meal break (meal place is where he recommended) without telling them how to get a tour inside the building (most people are Chinese, they do not know what to do). As I looked at the map in welcome center and get the tour ticket, I do not even have time to take the tour because he set the time frame very SHORT (around 50 min per place) even in Washington, D.C., the longest time we stayed there is 2 hr (including lunch time ), then he took us right away to a boat pier (ticket is also required)

We booked via take tours. We had no idea that they on sell your booking to anyone. After a long journey from Australia we were picked up at JFK by a guide from L&L tours. We were taken to a place called Flushings and just dumped there. Told to come back in 5 hours after they had finished picking up more customers from the airports. We had no idea where we were or where to go. We were exhausted and walked around aimlessly until we found a shopping centre, we sat in a coffee shop half asleep. Looking back on our 7 day east coast tour, that was actually one of the better days! It seriously got worse as each day passed. Day 2 was Atlantic City, we were picked up from the hotel which was on the outskirts of NJ about 1 hr from NYC, at 7am and taken back to NYC to be dumped again at L &L tours office. We were then told to join a Casino bus that took us to the casino that obviously put on the bus. We spend 4 hours in Atlantic City out of a 14 hour day. Your time means nothing to these people. It is all about how they can make the most money out of providing the least amount of service.
It is very sad that having traveled half way around the world we still have no idea the significance of the sites we visited. Everything was in Chinese or broken English. At one point when our guide said "Colin Powell" discovered America, we realised just how broken the English was.
On the plus side we both lost weight over the 7 days, as most meals were Chinese food, so we stocked up on breakfast bars. We have never been so glad for a tour to end.

This past Saturday my family and I took the 1 day New York City tour. We did a lot of exploring making sure we purchased the right tour, but unfortunately we did NOT pick correctly. The trip was a disaster. Here’s what happened:

We arrived at the pick-up location almost 45 minutes before the departure time. Everything seemed to go smoothly as we waited for our tour. The tour was a little late to start, about 8:15AM instead of 8:00AM, but that wasn’t a big deal. It is clearly defined on the website that the first stop should have been the World Trade Center, however we were taken to Trinity Church and Wall Street area first. We thought this was a simple change of plans, and we concluded this was okay. As the tour guide (who did NOT wear a yellow jacket nor did he speak anything close to intelligible English through the grainy speakers on the van) explained things he was very short in his explanations and hard to understand. Even the other passengers later complained they couldn’t understand anything he said. The first stop was the best part of the entire day.

The tour guide then took us to the cruise. Everything seemed fine until we stopped. When we stopped in front of the cruise we were told that we HAD to purchase 2 tickets from him with ONLY cash. This presented a number of problems:

1. We were NOT expecting this as this was NOT listed in the confirmation email (I have retained the email that verifies this). The guide could not even show us OR the other passengers anything that validated his demands to purchase 2 tickets from him BY CASH. The other passengers left the tour at this point as there was no evidence to verify his claims.
2. We did not have cash nor did we WANT to use cash. The cruise store inside was the exact same price and accepted credit cards. At this point we were left wondering what shady things are going on “under the table” since only cash could be used.
3. One of our family members is part of the US military and could get a discount even though the tour guide told him there was NO discount. Now, we were not only being deceived, but also lied to. This is NOT acceptable!!
4. Several of our family members weren’t able to afford BOTH tickets as they had NO idea this was a requirement. (Please note this could have been avoided by offering these tickets in advance on the website when we purchased the tickets. A simple way to lose almost 20 customers frequently is to carry on doing what you’re doing.)

Finally, we made an agreement with the tour guide (and his supposed manager) that he’d let us take the cruise, pick us up, take us to Times Square, give us some time to look around, and then PICK US UP and take us back to the office in Chinatown. Several family members verified this aforementioned plan a couple of times after the TOUR GUIDE OFFERED the plan to us. We agreed and went to on the cruise. The cruise was WONDERFUL! I am sure it was wonderful because they are not part of your deceptive and lying company and guides. We came back and met the guide who nearly left us even though the cruise takes 90 minutes and we were at the meeting area shortly after the cruise returned.

The tour guide/driver took us to Times Square where, literally, he had us all look out the window for a VERY brief, less-than-a second glimpse, as we rocketed across the street leading to Times Square. The driver stopped and started to let us get out. My family begins to exit the van when my brother asks when the pick-up time would be. At this point the tour guide BROKE his verbal agreement with us and said he would NOT pick us up and take us back to the office. A couple of our family members were having a difficult time getting around because of all the walking and we needed a ride back to the office. At this point the tour guide gave the option to take us back to the office immediately instead of seeing Times Square… again, this was a BREACH in HIS agreement. Under the circumstances, we were left with NO option, but to go back to the office without seeing almost everything on the tour we PAID to see. At this point, the tour guide became not a victim of a disorganised and a deceptive travel agency, but also a part of it. He did NOT mention ANYTHING else about the city the rest of the way back.

I would not recommend this tour to anyone!

We booked the 3 day trip to Niagara Falls and Washington with Take Tours. Take tours failed to mention that this tour ran through L & L Travel Enterprise, because otherwise we might have been more prepared based on L & Ls reviews. It doesn't help that Take Tours only posts the good reviews on there website. Take tours also implies that this tour is in English with Chinese available, there's no doubt about it: THIS IS A CHINESE SPEAKING TOUR.

When we first got on the bus we were informed that the toilet was not to be used and of all the added costs that we had to pay. When asked how much we were paying for each attraction the tour guide 'Windy' couldn't break down the cost for us. He charged children and adults the same overpriced fee as well. For one attraction we were charged $25 each, but upon looking at the ticket pricing we learnt it was only $7 entry and children under 12 were free as well as students, even though our tour guide told us they don't do concession prices at any of the attractions. When we said we didn't want to do one of the attractions because it had no interest to us he started to argue. This was all before our bus broke down in the middle of no where and we missed all the first days attractions anyway, one of which was the main reason we toke the tour: Niagara Falls at Night.

While our bus was broken down we only received one update from the tour guide 2 hours in saying they were going to fix the bus and it'd be around half an hour. 4 hours later a new bus arrived to take us to the hotel. We spent 6 hours standard. We reached the hotel just before 2 in the morning and were told we had to be on the bus by 7 - just 5 hours after checking in.

The second day we got to finally see Niagara Falls, complete with the Niagara falls movie in Chinese that we had to pay for. When we learned this was what he intended to do we asked for our money back and we were told that it was a good opportunity for us to learn Mandarin. Our tour guide hardly gave instructions in English, rather thought clapping at us to get our attention was more appropriate. When he did give English instructions or information it didn't make sense such as 'when you get off the bus go rightleft and straight' or '18th century they only rode sheep'. If we asked where we were we could expect answers such as 'Only I need to know that, trust me' or 'it only matters where we are going'. We would often drive up to 5 hours without a break because according to the tour guide there was no where to stop within that 5 hours for food or a toilet break other then a buffet significantly out of the way, which would be great if we weren't told we couldn't use the toilet on the bus and it wasn't past dinner time. We lucked out the second night as there was a supermarket for food next to the Chinese buffet, we weren't so lucky the following day at lunch where we stopped for another out of the way buffet. We got an early night on day 2, arriving at the hotel just before 11 pm to be back on the bus by 6:30 am.

Nothing beats the moment on the third day in Washington when we were going to visit president Thomas Jeffersons memorial and the tourist guide implied that the President was racist and said he was 'full of s**t' in regards to his proclamation of equal rights. The whole time in Washington he was not able to tell us what things were in English, luckily most of the sites had very helpful attendants so we actually knew what we were looking at.

This tour had no flexibility, we were given specific short times that we were allowed to be at each place before the bus left, sometimes given only 20 minutes to look at a landmark, go to the toilet and eat. This is in no way an American tour. I highly recommend seeing Niagara falls and Washington, but with a real tour company, and not this scam. He overcharged for attractions, we had no sleep, and were expected to pay $24 for his service each. One young girl didn't want to pay the full amount, rightfully so because his service was horrid, so for 30 minutes straight he yelled at her on the bus. Altogether I would not recommend this tour to anyone.

This company provides a flat fee for a two day trip to DC and Philly from NY, with hotel included.
It wasn't until we were on the bus that the tour guide told us there was a mandatory $7 per day "service fee" for his and the bus drivers services ($14 for the 2 day trip). This is even though the website says "Tour guide included", apparently the service fee is for him not leaving you stranded if you don't pay the fee.
I felt this was such a scam as the website showed the fee included all fixed costs and showed only optional costs not included such as meal and optional sights.

They also charge $20 per person to see Fort McHenry (optional attraction) and we have to pay the guide and he pays the entrance fee. We looked up the Ft McHenry website and it showed $7 per person. We then found out that the extra $10 was a transportation fee to the fort, even though the bus was going there anyways. When we said we didn't want to pay $20 the tour guide dropped us off at a shopping center and picked us up on the way back. They wouldn't allow us to go to the fort with everyone because we would see the real fee was only $7.
Another total scam.
They also bring you to have dinner and lunch - both at all you can eat Chinese buffet, where, I am sure they get a cut of the fee.
There are a lot of attractions they squeeze in, but I did not like being scammed for money and lied to. I do not recommend this company.
