“Great little theater”
Reviewed 17 February 2014

I liked walking in at street level and being on the mezzanine level. The seats were great and it was easy to get and out of the theater.

“Beautiful on Broadway”
Reviewed 9 February 2014

Recently took in an afternoon showing of the Carole King inspired show on Broadway. Wow, what a show. If you like her music you won't be disappointed. The show has such a flow to it from her teen years to her adult years as a superstar that won't make you yawn once. Once the show is over you will realize there was much more to her life and music than you thought. Highly recommended for everyone! The Stephen Sondheim Theater was an excellent venue to see a show. I don't think there is a bad seat in the house. Also,to me, the theater was a little unique. When you walk in street level the doors immediately in front of you lead to the mezzanine level. The orchestra section is accessed by taking the steps down a level. Clean, well kept, and their employees were very professional. Great theater, would go there again.

“Nice theatre, good location, good layout to see the stage, sarificing some leg room for taller guys.”
Reviewed 26 January 2014 via mobile

Have been to this theatre before.
Seems like I saw 42nd St. Here.
The foot work the shoes were easy to watch.
The stage is well placed rounded seating giving great visibility.
Perfect for Beautiful and the story
of Carole King.
Good location. Excellent hamburgers across the street.
Do visit when in New York. There is, proposed another 10% tax on corporations in the city. Most likely prices will probably become prohibitive. Basic services seem to be compromised with over spending and not enough money after all the lavish spending, Such as the planned completion of the world trade center.
If possible and safe at the time do see this theatre.

“Great place to see Trip to Bountiful!”
Reviewed 15 October 2013

Had to go see a play, and it had to be Trip to Bountiful, with Ms. Cicely Tyson and Ms. Vanessa Williams, amongst others....really enjoyed, altho the theatre was so very cold, BF too pity and draped his jacked over my body and legs.....but even with that, the play helped me forget the cold...well done, cast!

“Awesome experience”
Reviewed 24 September 2013

Very nice theatre. Loved how the balcony was steep enough so the stage could be seen no matter the seat. However, it didn't provide much leg room. Great location also. Wonderful restaurant across the street & times square a block away.
