My wife and I celebrated our anniversary at Annisa and had a wonderful meal. The choices were very creative and unusual, and the food was truly delicious. The service was very attentive and exceedingly helpful. And the atmosphere was very elegant. All in all a wonderful dining experience that didn't break the bank. We will be back very soon.

I have been to nearly every top-rated restaurant in lower manhattan, and how this makes the top of zagat's list is a mystery.

No decor or ambience. Server literally disappeared for 20 minutes and it's a tiny place.

The food is like the leftover stuff from a bento box. Lots of tasteless little japanese vegetables and ginger. I had a rabbit dish that could have been $15 chicken Katsu at some random sushi place.

I would not go back if they gave me 50% off. Yes, it's that disappointing.

Situated in the West Village, this a great little spot surrounded by what seems to be a very chaotic and bustling area. It's smaller than I imagined, which is great, more intimate. The bar seats six or seven and is situated in the front window for gazing while dining room sits up in a honey coloured lit dining room. Really nice interior. Had some bites (the foie gras, wow) and some dessert (the bread pudding with meyer lemon, wow). Drink menu was creative as well. Fun little spot with a nice tasting menu. Will return.

Gorgeous food. It's complicated, fresh and quite accessible to people who claim not to like "fussy" food. The people who love "fussy" food will love it. And those who don't will love it. You can get more exotic fare like uni and unagi or you can get a thick fabulous Wagyu steak. Plus the cocktails are creative and delicious but you get also just get a great glass of bourbon too. So take your foodie girlfriend or boyfriend and still be happy yourself! It's a little pricey but the experience is well worth it.

This is about as unobjectionable as you get in NYC dining. The reason I say that is because while everything was really very good to excellent, from the greeting to the service to the drinks to the food and the ambiance, Annisa didn't deliver a knockout punch like you get from 11 Madison Park or Daniel. But then, it isn't supposed to. It's on the map as a more reasonable alternative to those big league places. A top 20 restaurant, but not a top 10.

Even the crowd is very good to excellent, meaning it's not frantic and touristy like you see at Minetta Tavern and the like. It's a relaxed, wonderful environment where my wife and I enjoyed a romantic dinner, exactly what we were looking for.

The food was really, well, very good to excellent! And I have to hand it to the chef, who made an effort to greet many diners on that cold, snowy evening in February, 2012. She obviously puts a lot of work into making Annisa a finely tuned machine where all parts are working well. And from what I saw, it is working very well. I will certainly go back again.
