“Very Good-Authentic, Great Service”
Reviewed 8 September 2011

Nice quaint restaurant. Very creative menu. The specials filled a blackboard that they rolled to your table. Tables are quite close together but not intrusive. Don't go here if you just want plain pasta and meatballs. Go for some really creative and delicious food. The service was really good. They use the team approach and you are never left waiting for anything. In NYC, Italian restaurants won't last long if they are not good and this one is good. Also, feel free to ask for a dish if they don't have it on the menu. I asked for the gnocchi with meat sauce as an appetizer and it was really good(Note-I am no gnocchi expert but it was still awesome).
Enjoy!

“Not the same old Italian restaurant”
Reviewed 5 September 2011

We've been to Marinella many times over the last few years but hadn't been able to visit for awhile. We went last Thursday night and were extremely happy to be back.
Marinella serves all the traditional favorites, but their specials on a rolling blackboard are the things to try. They always have a wonderful selection of the freshest seafood and again, very often there's something unusual to try.
The meat and pasta dishes are also superb, creative and never disappoint.
Finish your meal with the lightest, most delicate ricotta cheesecake in NYC.

“Good Italian restaurant in the Village”
Reviewed 21 August 2011

We visited this restaurant on our last evening in NYC. The food was good, but nothing special. The service was excellent though! The restaurant seems dated and lifeless compared to the other restaurants in the area. However, on the other hand, if you want a quiet intimate place, this restaurant is for you!

“Nice Comfortable Italian Dinner in the West Village”
Reviewed 9 August 2011

Dinner for one at Marinella. Every aspect was good, the pleasant environs, nice servers and good meal. I ordered the tricolor salad, and shrimp sauteed with shitake mushrooms.
Good entree. My glass of wine at 8 bucks a pop (average cost for NYC) was a nice sized pour, in summer it was a bit too warm and I asked them to chill it for a few minutes. Places really need to watch the temperature of red wine in summer, when it is too warm the wine can be overpowering. All in all a good safe bet for a nice meal. You might not "wow" at the whole package but you won't be disappointed.

“unbelievable”
Reviewed 2 June 2011

Gnocchi you will remember for the rest of your life. But, certainly not a pasta house. Veals and fish are outstanding. Try the house wine, Falcone. Reasonably priced. A terrific dining experience presented by people who love to cook. Have fun and do not be afraid to ask how the food is prepared. They love to talk about it.
