“Too much salt !!!”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 June 2014

It is really too bad that our experience was so awful!
The restaurant is very pretty and gives one the felling that you are going to enjoy yourself!! My husband and I were on a 'DATE" with each other and having a romantic evening .
We ordered the chicken meatballs as an appetizer and commented on how salty it was.
That was nothing compared to the main dishes. They tasted delicious, but the amount of salt was not tolerable!! But what made it worse was the fact that the waiter was arguing with us about it. We sent both dishes back and were told that the chef tasted them, the chef cooks with allot of salt and he did not feel they were salty at all. We did not have another main dish, since we were already told that it would be salty. We ordered desert. When we received the check we were charged for the two dishes we sent back!!!We had to argue with the waiter to take the dishes off our check! He finally did. By the way, the check was over a hundred dollars for two drinks, one appetizer, one desert and coffee and one cheese desert. Too bad, because we liked the atmosphere in the restaurant!

“A traditional Italian cuisine pairing with Californian exceptional wines”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 May 2014

The menu is really quite extended and the wine list - with a lot of first class Californian wines - allows you top pai food and wine very easily. The ambient is very pleasant, as well as the service, which is also very efficient

This restaurant was recommended as a top Italian restaurant but we found the food unsatisfactory and were treated badly when we sent a dish back. The price was very high and service very low

We ate here in May after hearing that this restaurant was exceptional. It was not. The waiter was haughty and not customer service oriented. I had to return the veal chop since it was under cooked. This is unacceptable at these prices. I would think they could cook this dish to perfection.

“Excellent family-run Italian Restaurant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 May 2014

I've eaten here several times, and the food is superb. The owner is always present and occasionally cooks too! The wine selection is perfect for the cuisine. Although located in the Upper East Side, this is not a pretentious restaurant. Many of the family members work here. We have been introduced by the restaurant staff to two amazing white wines we had never had before from Italy: Arneis from the northwestern mountains of Italy near France and Falanghina from the volcanic soils of more southern Italy.
