Description: One of America’s most beloved restaurants, Gramercy Tavern has welcomed guests for close to two decades to enjoy seasonal American cuisine, warm hospitality and unparalleled service. The restaurant is perennially ranked at the top of Zagat Survey’s ‘Most Popular’ list, and has garnered eight James Beard Awards including ‘Outstanding Restaurant’ and ‘Best Chef: NYC’. Chef Michael Anthony’s highly seasonal menu consists of elegant dishes with a rustic influence that showcase the restaurant’s relationships with local farms and purveyors. The Main Dining Room serves prix-fixe menus starting at $92 for dinner and an a la carte menu for lunch, and accepts reservations 28 days in advance. The more casual Tavern serves an a la carte menu centered around the wood burning grill, and welcomes guests on a walk-in basis. The restaurant also features an acclaimed wine list, and thoughtfully selected beer and cocktail offerings.

I had an excellent burger (made perfect from the get go) and a love leek-potato soup. The mulled concord grape cocktail was a highlight. A very nice staff. Beautiful environment - french country and gorgeous fall decorations. Just a really nice recommendation from friends -

My husband, a friend and I ate dinner here. We had reservations for 6:30 with the thought that being early we would beat the dinner crowd so we could talk. We had requested a table at the back of the restaurant, away from the bar. The dinner was superb! We shared the seafood tower and the roasted market squash as appetizers. My friend had the mushroom lasagna, which he declared as superb. My husband had the kielbasa, which he said was delicious. I enjoyed the sea bass. The service was friendly and efficient! The dessert was mouth watering! We each ordered a different dessert and tasted the chocolate pudding cake, Apple sundae and the blackberry soufflé. We ate like kings and enjoyed our entire evening together!

Let’s get the one negative out of the way: with the noise levels not the place for a romantic night for two.
That being said for a lively group of friends or family it’s great ! We had the tasting menu which was delicious, well balanced and beautifully presented and having dined recently at L’Enclume (2 Michelin stars) it stood up well in comparison .
We had wines selected by the Sommelier, the Californian red was delicious as was the Austrian white and though the sour beer was a little ‘sudden’ for me overall the wine choices were excellent.

My husband and I recently ate here. We have heard about it for years and finally got a chance to have dinner. We are people who prefer to eat at the bar instead of a proper table. When we walked in the bar was packed but they took our name and fairly quickly got us sat and set up for dinner at the bar. The food was great and the bartenders were super friendly and hard working. We had amazing cocktails, wine, food, and service. Would highly recommend
