“Italian Food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 May 2014

After my niece's graduation ceremony it was time to have a meal. We were going to go to Eataly. This restaurant was recommended to us by friends. A lovely and relaxed atmosphere. The food was excellent and we were allowed to sit, talk, and relax for 3 hours while enjoying are meal and celebrating.

“Real food ”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 May 2014 via mobile

After several days eating just hamburgers, it was a great surprise to find this tinny italian restaurant on the way.
Just be advised that the maitre is a bit crazy and these is some off menu food.
It's a bit expensive too.

“Pre-Theatre Perfection!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 May 2014

While we have dined here before, my husband and I were happy to have an excuse to return to this lovely and cozy establishment. The attention to service is efficient and pleasant; the food is well prepared and well presented; and if you are lucky enough to be holding tickets, and dashing off to see Alan Cumming at Studio 54 in Cabaret - well then you're just steps from that front door! While Restaurant Row is a few block south you won't be disappointed if you extend your dining circle to include Da Tomasso.

“In and out in a hurry”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 May 2014

We made a reservation here for 10:00 p.m. after a show the other evening because we wanted Italian and several other restaurants we tried couldn't take us before 11:00. At that hour we didn't want a big dinner. We both ordered a martini (excellent). We asked to see the wine list -- "We don't have one." (Really?) And then the waiter mentioned the wines they had by the glass by category only -- riesling, chardonnay, merlot, etc., no names of wineries -- take it or leave it. We each ordered a glass of wine. Caesar salad, good, small. One of the reviews here mentioned that the waiter said the pastas were small and they turned out to be huge. I asked the waiter the same question and got the same answer. So we believed him. In fact, the pastas are huge. My husband had spaghetti with pesto, which he liked. I had fusilli alla Laura, which involved garlic, pancetta and spinach and was nothing special and I ate less than half. When we got there, there were two other tables occupied and those people left soon after we got there. The waiter was perfunctory, the service was rushed, and in fact were finished half an hour after we got there. Another couple arrived a few minutes before we left. The waiter was going to have to stay a little longer and he really didn't want to. Normally we wouldn't have resented paying over $100 for that meal (drinks, of course, add to the tab), but in this case we sort of did because it wasn't very pleasant.

“Friendly staff, delicious food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 April 2014

I'm sure they spotted us as out-of-towners but the maitre-d' and wait-staff could not have been more gracious. Everything we had was delicious. Try the stuffed mushrooms! The windows of the restaurant open on Eighth Avenue. We enjoyed watching people walk by. I'm looking forward to our next visit so that I can go again.
