St. Mark's Street is one of my favourite places in NY and we happened upon Cafe Orlin one evening and made the lucky choice of choosing the Baba Ganoush as an appetizer. What a treat! We nearly cancelled our mains so that we could have more. We went back during the late afternoon another day and I had the blueberry sorbet, delish! I will definitely be going back.

I hesitate to again recommend Cafe Orlin - it's already so very popular, particularly on weekends.
This is a great place to start your day - catch a subway to Union Square and walk, or if you're on the 1,2 or 3 get out at 14th and take the bus across town to 2nd and walk south 6 blocks. The cuisine is middle eastern. delicious options including some weekend only specials, the coffee is really good too.

This is a great little neighborhood restaurant. The food is very tasty, the prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is pleasant. The night we were there we waited awhile for our main courses, but it was worth our time.

We were a group of 8 wandering the East Village for a place to have breakfast on an early Saturday morning, and we headed to Cafe Orlin after a local stopped and recommended this place to us. When we arrived around 9:30 AM, the place was virtually empty, so we were seated right away and our food arrived promptly. I have to say, I was very impressed by both the service and the quality and value of our meal. There was a set brunch menu available which allowed us to have a drink of our choice in addition to our meal for $15.00, per person. We sampled each other's meals, and the Eggs Benedict and Challah French Toast were absolutely delicious! When we left around 10:45 AM, the place was packed and there was already a line out of the door. Come early and you won't regret it!

I came here for brunch on a Sunday at 11 am and it was packed! We were told there was a 20 minute wait, but we were seated before that. The inside is pretty big and they have 3 rooms all packed with tables. It was a little noisy, but nothing unexpected. I came with my boyfriend and we ended up having the Norwegian eggs benedict, which came with a cappuccino and a small fresh orange juice (great deal), and the huevos rancheros. Very good coffee here! The plates took a while getting to us and even the waitress came over to ask if we got our food yet. She was a little surprised when we said no, but it came right after. Their homesfries are so GOOD! Perfectly season with a nice amount of crispy burn. The smoked salmon was really nice since it wasn't super salty, but the poached egg was a tad small. The beans on the huevos rancheros was delicious. We finished everything and it ended up being a good portion size in total. We weren't uncomfortably stuffed and left a happy full. All in all, it was a good experience and we will definitely be coming back. Prices are very reasonable as well for such a popular brunch spot. Two brunch entrees came out to be $30 including the tax and tip.
