During our NYC visit we dined at Sylvias Soul Food Restaurant. For a Sunday we expected a long wait at the popular eatery but we didn't expect for our name to be completely overlooks from the list.
I went to the hostess prior to being overlooked just to see how far down our name was and at the time it was still there. However, I guess the hostess didn't appreciate my inquiry thus the losing of the name.
However, a very kind and professional Dominio (quite sure the name is mispelled) took pity and came outside to assist and immediately sat our party at a table. He was a great treat to speak with and should totally be recognised for his professionalism and and concern.
It then took our waitress about 20 or 30 minutes to take our order. Only for her to tell us in another 20 minutes that she needed our orders again because the wind blew away our order (we sat outside). This social butterfly needs to pay more attention to customers and less about picture taking of patrons. And we were never asked by our waitress what we wanted to drink so the complimentary glasses of water was it.
Finally, the food arrived. Very plentiful portions and quite tasty of the ribs, catfish, smothered pork chops, yams, greens and Mac and cheese.
The food was good but I caution you to choose a less busy day and give it a shot to enjoy the dining experience.
