A new hotel in an area where hotels are wanting! This hotel is about 10 months old and clearly a nice property compared to the few others in Chinatown. The doubles were excellent, the bathrooms clean, working elevators, decent continental breakfast and really pleasant and helpful desk people. It is located near two subway stops and where a lot of the 'Chinatown' bus points are located. Hungry? Most of the options are Chinese places, so that is your only choice. Parking for the hotel is at your own risk street parking or at a lot 3 blocks away. Can walk to anywhere at lower Manhatten.

Room Tip: Get rooms facing Allen/Pike street

We stayed here on the 4th of July to be close to the fireworks. The hotel was clean with comfortable beds with a mini fridge which is always handy. We had a gorgeous view of the Manhattan Bridge. There is noise from the subway but this wasn't a problem for us. The neighborhood is definitely Chinatown. There were a lot of Chinese resturants and stores all around the hotel. We didn't see hardly any tourists in the immediate area but for me this made it more of an experience to soak in a different culture. There is a market right beside the hotel which is convenient. It's mostly Chinese but we found several things that we needed. We walked to the seaport from the hotel to see the fireworks. It was bit of a walk but enjoyable. The parking is odd because you park offsite at a parking garage for a fee but its close by. We had a little trouble finding it but once we found it we realized we were close to hotel. The front desk staff were very very friendly, personable and helpful. I would recommend this hotel for location if you want a different experience than tourist areas like Times Square. There is a fish smell in lobby and on elevators because of the market but it disappeared once we stepped out of the elevator and into the hallway and room. I would stay here for the good rate and cleanliness but mostly due to the great hospitality from the front desk and staff in general.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the side facing the Manhattan Bridge for a good view.

I live in NYC. Down the road from this hotel. My friend was here for business so his company paid for his accommodations instead of him staying for me.

As such, we were able to hang in my neighborhood and were up having a great time until late at night. We took advantage of not having to clean (not like we were slobs) garbage, towels, etc. and hung out at the hotel until I left early morning.

All the reviews about a twenty minute walk and no shops are completely false. It's NYC. There is everything everywhere. You just have to know where things are. The East Broadway subway station for the F train is a ten minute walk. There are 24 hour shops in numerous directions for food. There is delivery.

It's about knowing where you are, which isn't easy if you are traveling. Research the neighborhood and what you want to do. This is a great hotel!! I live in NYC in a very expensive coop and think people are crazy to pay the crazy rates they pay to stay in Times Square or other known areas. Besides, this hotel is closer to better restaurants, bars, and stuff than Times Square. Just find out where they are and what you want to do in NYC.

My son and I traveled to NYC for a quick overnight. The hotel was only a few short blocks to the submway on East Broadway. The room was smaller but was equiped with both a microwave and fridge. WiFi was free as well. Bathroom was more than adequate. Since I hadn't been to NYC in a few years I needed directions to the hotel and Lucy at the front desk was a star in that she gave us directions to the subway along with some time saving guidance for our 24 hour vacation. It was exactly what we needed. When we got back to the hotel (approximately 10:30pm) we were looking for a good restaurant in Chinatown and again, the front desk staff got us where we needed to go. When we go to NYC I'd like to stay there again.

Room Tip: We stayed on the 6th floor to avoid some noise.

My family & I stayed there for 3-nights. We had an emergency trip to NY. This hotel was inexpensive & very nice. Only cons for me were location & parking. Chinatown could be a great place for some but not for me. The hotel has an arrangement with a parking garage so you get a $5 discount at $30. The guy said they would charge $30 every time we took our car out so we only used them one night. The other nights my husband would drive to the closest area where you didn't have to pay for parking. It was about 5 blocks away around a school by the projects. That was ok.
Breakfast & wi-fi were included; which is nice. The breakfast area was nice & food options were good; tasted good as well.
The room was a good size. It was very clean. The closest however was small & there is no safe in the room. So don't bring valuables as it is not safe to leave in room.
Overall, I would recommend if on a budget.

Spacious, clean, and modern hotel rooms and friendly staff await you at this Fairfield Inn located in lower east Manhattan on the fringe of Chinatown. This hotel is in a safe area because we (my husband, I and our 2 daughters) did our share of walking to restaurants in Chinatown and Little Italy and to and from the bridges and subway at all times of the day and night with no trouble at all. You will get comfortable catching the F subway train just a block from the hotel and taking it into Times Square and the Broadway area or to shopping. Breakfast buffet is included in hotel stay - and is wonderful and fresh with lots of choices. Highly recommend this Marriott property!

The hotel located in China Town. You are in the middle of busy Chinatown. Within 20 minutes away from subway stations, Wall street, the pier where you catch water taxi tours, and also 20 minutes walk from little Italy. The hotel itself is nice and clean, like everything else in New York, the real estate is high, so every corner need to be utilized. Overall, it is a comfortable hotel. Breakfast is sufficient enough, it is crowded as the times goes by.
Staff are friendly, exercise room very limited. Parking is about 2 blocks away, for $30, without in and out access.
