“Good food and service.”
Reviewed 1 January 2012

Attentive service. Good food and relatively okay pricing as a steakhouse. Has new ownership and will undergo alot of decorative changes and name will become Vic and Anthony's, an upscale steak chain. Great area also.

“Where's the Beef?”
Reviewed 2 December 2011

We have been going to Angelo and Maxie's since their opening night many years ago and what an opening it was complete with Cuban band and dancing. Fast forward a few decades and we celebrated my husband's 40th and 50th as well as several company holiday parties and many a Sunday night steak dinner. So two weeks ago we went there for dinner to be met with a new menu, smaller portions, higher prices and changes posing as improvements. The previously large ribeye was significantly smaller as was the tuna steak which is now hardly a steak and although we asked for it to be very rare, it arrived medium and covered in some weird sauce. The Roumanian steak was gone from the menu and worst of all, the bizarre new creamy spinach. A lot of cream or binder and not much spinach with a layer of melted mozzarella cheese on top. They used to have the best creamy spinach in New York. Instead of overhauling the menu, they should have retrained the staff that had grown a bit lethargic and aloof. The last few times we went there service had definitely slipped and it's really too bad but we will not return.

“Great Place, Great People”
Reviewed 2 December 2011

This is our 2nd time eating at Angelo's on Thanksgiving evening. We did the parade and the Rockettes, then headed to A&M for football and dinner. We watched football and had expert drinks and yummy appetizers over for a couple of hours. The bar staff were very helpful, efficient, but also lots of fun. Four of us had the Thanksgiving dinner which was fabulous and huge! My wife had a great ribeye, but the turkey and fixin's were the bomb. OK, you won't be going to A&M for turkey, so i can quit raving, but I can assure you the staff is first rate, and everything we ate was tasty. We will visit them on every trip.

“Fantastic food and service”
Reviewed 17 November 2011

We celebrated a birthday at Angelo & Maxie's and we all selected the table d'hôte. Included was a perfectly prepared filet mignon (the best I've ever had!), accompanied by a huge loaded baked potatoe (the size of two closed fists) and Caesar salad. The wine selection was varied both in tastes and in price. We opted for cheesecake for dessert.

The atmosphere was relaxed and very friendly.

The only two things I would have improved upon were the proximity of the tables (too close to other patrons) and the cleanliness of the washrooms.
