Can't beat the location/atmosphere at Boat Basin. Let's face it, though, this is the only reason New Yorkers come here. Service is generally bad, drinks overpriced, and food downright awful. Basically the selection is previously frozen burgers, chicken fingers, and poorly cooked fish. Go for drinks and atmosphere, but eat somewhere else first.

stumbled over this place walking along the banks of the Hudson. Very glad I stopped. The view of the marina and the Hudson are really good - the table settings basic. BUT I had the grilled salmon burger and, I have to say, it was the best burger I have had in years. Well done. I hope this was not just an aberration and that those of you who might choose to look this place up will be equally well treated.

This hideaway is the best outdoor drinking spot on Manhattan. No frills, picnic style chairs an tables, paper plate service. Good specials, tasty wings and bar food. Good beer selection including drafts, bottles, and cans.

You have to go looking for this place down by Riverside Park but it's well worth seeking out. Great location with river Hudson views. The atmosphere is lively & buzzing, Service a bit patchy, but that was probably because of how busy it was & the incredible level of noise generated by all those folks having a good time. The burgers were very tasty & one basket of fries were plenty enough for the two of us. What impressed us the most was the speed of the staff who very quickly & efficiently moved all the patrons, their food & their drinks from the outside area to inside when a massive rain & thunderstorm come over! Nice place, would definatley go again.

The only reason this didn't get a 5 star rating is because of the wait for a table overlooking the water. There is a lot of space to explore while you wait and after being seated, all is right with the world.
This fabulous restaurant has the most glorious view of the water that overlooks the New Jersey skyline. The ambiance is among the best I've experienced.
After being seated the service was wonderful and the food Amazing.
I was told the soup of the day was Gazpacho but they were wrong and after a few bites of something I'd never tasted before, I asked the waiter what I was eating. He said he'd made a mistake and the soup of the day was cold watermelon and beet. I don't like beets but this is the best soup I've ever had! To the point that I - when no one was looking - drank the juice out of the cup!
So good and made for a pleasant experience while visiting friends and NYC.
