My wife and I sampled this neighborhood Italian restaurant prior to the theatre on a weekday night. We arrived in plenty of time to enjoy our meal. There were perhaps 5-6 other tables occupied. We found the atmosphere, service and food to be quite average - nothing special. With so many choices in this neighborhood, there are likely others worth seeking out.

I have eaten there many times, but sadly this will be the last. The service was pathetic. Our waiter behaved like a moron, when we asked for water and bread, he reacted like a prison guard rationing out our portions. He was not engaged and just a huge problem

We picked Cara Mia at the last minute while walking past and were pleased with the overall experience. The service was attentive without being intrusive. We arrived just before the big dinner crowd and observed what we thought was a very efficient operation. If it had not been so busy I may have enjoyed a second glass of wine but no matter as we were anxious to get to the theater (which we discovered we had plenty of time for the walk). With so many options for dinner in the city its hard to decide, so we have no complaints and were given no reason to look for any.

This will be a very short review as I did not actually get to eat at this restaurant. We informed the waiter that we had about an hour to eat, no problem. So the two of us ordered quickly and both ordered pasta, so that should have shortened the waiting time as well. After 35 minutes of not having our food, we asked what was happening. Only one chef - not my problem! They then took orders for desert from another table and after 10 minutes they were given their food, when we asked where was our food, coming was the off hand answer. After 50 minutes we left and ate pizza from a nearby store. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone as the service was so terrible and very offhand. The food may be good, but I will never know.

Pretheater reservation at 6:15 p.m. Seated immediately. Tables a little crowded but when the table behind us left it was fine.

Inexpensive prix fixe of two courses for $20. Good value. Oysters $1 each. Excellent. Cool. Fresh, three delicious sauces with six oysters....and presented nicely. Three had salads. Moderate portions but were proclaimed good.

Entrees: One had Rigatoni. Very good. Two had pork saltimboca (unusual to see it made with pork, but both said it was very good. Large portions. Came with herbed potatoes. Menu description Pork Saltimbocca sautéed with prosciutto, sage and spinach in a light wine sauce add.

Eggplant with a side of pasta was a HUGE portion. No mozarella as expected but good. Could have used more sauce.

One creme brulee shared. Well prepared. Cappucino o.k.

Good for an inexpensive, quick and convenient pre-theater meal.
