The service, food and room made for an unforgettable dinner. Yes, it is difficult to get reservations (our hotel's concierge secured ours) and yes, it is expensive. But it's all worth it. The food was imaginative, beautiful and most of all, delicious. The courses kept coming and coming...Most memorable were the poached lobster, carrot tartare, venison and venison butter, roasted squash, the "picnic" course, and sweet potato cheese cake. The polite but not overly cloying service was superb. Our dinner took 3 1/2 hours with champagne and wine. The service continued at the NoMad Hotel's Library Bar, which is also operated by Chef Daniel Humm. The restaurant reserved a table for us at this exclusive bar and had two more desserts waiting for us upon arrival! We've enjoyed wonderful meals at other 3 star restaurants but Eleven Madison Park surpassed them all.
