If you're lucky enough to make it past the 'Guardian of the Elevator' and his velvet rope, you'll find a cool rooftop bar with an intentionally stripped back aesthetic. This place falls into TripAdvisor's 'black hole' of ratings for me, being 'Good' rather than either Average or Very Good... But as a venue it's definitely above average.

This place has exposed brick, a cosy looking fireplace, lots of natural looking wood and loads of natural light. It's beautifully bright and airy, with an amazing view of the Empire State.

Unfortunately all the tables were 'reserved' for people who wanted to eat, which is a shame - as we'd have happily stayed for a couple more drinks had we been able to use a table (several of which were empty). As it was, we stayed for just the one and propped up the bar. Our order for a Dark and Stormy ($14 each), according to the Cocktails list, should be made with Sailor Jerry rum - As this was the primary factor in our choosing it, when we saw the bartender make it with something else, I very politely asked that she re-make it with Sailor Jerry (and I even apologised several times). I was met with a terse "it's supposed to be made with this" but an acknowledgement that it states Jerry's on the menu, followed by a shrug, then by the remade drink. Despite this, she was still generous with the alcohol and we did enjoy people watching in one of the nicest looking bars we'd visited.

great vibes, coolplace with chill music. Try the sliders , they were delicious. It attracts a nice crowd with many found locals looking for a place to drink and socialize.

We were guests of the Refinery Hotel which made it easy to head straight to the top! Even though it was crowded, we were seated out on the open patio with no waiting where we enjoyed amazing appetizers, a pitcher of sangria, and a view of the Empire State Building.

This place was packed and the Tom Petty looking dude downstairs made us answer a few questions before letting us in, but for good reason- the view and the people in this bar were... scenic.
