“What a great free visit. Don't leave NY without visiting!!”
Reviewed 8 October 2013 via mobile

Visited the Hi line Thistle weeweek. Sunday. Packed. If yr looking for a slow stroll do NOT go over the weekend. But DO GO. Another day and time. Great views. Great foliage. And now there are small food /beverage outlets
Tshirts 45dollars. Now I appreciate that the Hiline needs support but this is silly, we'd all buy more for less. So maybe if the price came down a tad they'd make more money???? Just a thought. But don't leave NY without visiting, what an amazing innovation!

“living by the high line”
Reviewed 8 October 2013

I've lived near this park from when it was an abandoned eyesore to now when it is a must see destination. Walk from end to end. See the tourists. Sit on the deck chairs at 14th street at sunset and check out a guided tour. The park never disappoints although it can be crowded at peak times.

The park is a world away from the street and is quieter and more magical.

Be sure to walk through Chelsea Market on your way there or back and check out the shops and food places. All my guests have loved the combo.

“Nothing like it anywhere else...Yet!”
Reviewed 8 October 2013

This will be one of the most copied urban park designs in the future, I predict. What is not to like! You can walk for a long time without worrying about much of anything. The observation areas are great, the views are great, the little private areas that are not too private a nice place to tuck in with a book or a friend. If you haven't been, go!

“A pleasant stroll through Manhatten”
Reviewed 8 October 2013

the park has been created from a derelict elevated railway line, which has been transformed into a pleasant walkway. it meanders through lower Manhatten. I entered from 14th street at 10th avenue and left at the most northerly point (30th Street). Both these access points have elevators should you need them for pushchairs, strollers or wheel chairs.

There are food outlets close to the 14th street entrance and souvenir stands. stock up here with drinks as it can get hot in the summer months and there are plenty of seats but not a lot of shade. there are pleasnt views of the skyline and river as well as the hustle and bustle of Manhattan. Oh I forgot to say its also free, but you can leave a donation. Highly recommended.
