“Scenic walk on the High Line!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 November 2013

During our recent 5 night stay in NYC we took a stroll along the High Line. The art exhibits along the route are fantastic and the layout was well thought out. A very interesting way to enjoy the sights in NYC away from the hustle and bustle!

great place for a walk, visiting Chelsea Market nearby and just relaxing; be early to get a space especially in the summertime.

“A unique view of New York City”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 November 2013

My husband and I visited New York in November (Fall) and walked the Highline twice we enjoyed it so much. At one end you are right above Chelsea Markets which is also a great place to visit. This is a wonderful garden planted along a section of a disused railway track. The elevation and east west orientation means the sun penetrates several sections for most of the day. The autumn leaves on the trees provided a spectacular display. They also have public restrooms about half way along which is not so common to find in New York. The Walk provides views of the river from different angles as well as interesting architecture both old and new as well as interesting graffiti art and sculptures. I would recommend walking in both directions as the view changes when you walk into the sun and with the sun at your back. The bonus is it is absolutely free.

It's fun and cool. Views are great and it's in a great area of the city. The park is unique and surrounded by great restaurants and shopping.

“What a great idea!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 November 2013

It seemed odd to go to a park on a railway line but it worked. The location above the streets of New York gave you a different perspective of the city and a sense of peace and tranquility while taxis honked below you.
