“lose it at leos!!!”
Reviewed 9 November 2012

one of the worst eateries i have been in .the waitress must have looked at us at least 10 times as we tried to attract her attention then proceeded to serve us as if were not worth the time of her day, maybe because we were tourists?? the food we received was pretty bad and not very warm in to the bargain and not worth the expensive price tag.we counted at least 25 to 30 people coming in sitting down and then leaving as there was hardly any service.it may have great cheesecake but that doesnt make it a good eaterie.we ended up in the irish bar a couple doors up where we had wings and cugons whch were amazing and half the price!!! maybe it was just an off night but i certainly wont be back and woudnt recommend this place!!

“Service was awful!”
Reviewed 5 June 2012

We chose to eat at Lindy's as they had a really good lunchtime deal on ($16.99 for 2 courses and a drink) and we liked the look of the outside area. However when we sat down at a table the woman (clearly in charge- think here name was Kathy) came over, asked how may many were in our party. We replied '2' to which her response was 'that's a table for 4' and then walked away( even though it was only set for 3!) We then moved to another table and were ignored for some time. Just about to leave, we were served and given we were hungry we chose to stay. The food itself was OK but overall service was appaulling. We heard someone from a table behind ask if they could order to be told ' that's not my table' and there was no effort made to find the right person to help. It felt like all the staff had fallen out with each other. The policy of couples only being allowed to sit at a table of 2 was annoying and it meant that there were a number of tables empty. In hindsight the deal should have been a warning - as surely they wouldn't struggle to fill seats in broadway between 11am and 4pm on broadway if they were any good? yes the cheesecake was ok but not good enough to make us return.

“Small portions, high prices, mediocre service”
Reviewed 5 January 2012

For many years I attended an industry conference nearby Lindy's restaurant, but never had an opportunity to drop by. So when my family and I were in New York looking for a place for lunch, Lindy's seemed a great place to go. Based on the exterior decorations, I expected the kind of place that celebrities would drop by.

Instead, we found a lunch fare more appropriate to the old Woolworth's lunch counters than an expensive New York deli. The service was slow and sloppy. The slice of cheesecake for dessert, normally a feature of any New York deli, was uninspiring, and easily surpassed by any supermarket cooler.

Pass on this one. There's far better choices in Manhattan.

“pricey and run of the mill”
Reviewed 18 December 2004

The food at Lindy's consists of 15 dollar omelets, 16 dollar burgers 18 dollar turkey sandwiches and flat sodas for about 3.50. Lunch for four equals about 85.00 plus tip. For that, you'd expect it to be something great, but unfortunately, the food was simply OK. Nothing special. The restaurant itself is not very clean, more or less a dank, greasy hole in the wall. We had a couple of flies buzzing us throughout the entire meal. Whatever you do, DO NOT USE THE BATHROOM! It was absolutely disgusting and I cannot belive a restaurant with mid-level dining prices would try to pass this off to their customers as acceptable. AVOID.
