Mr. Lee and his wife have been making delectable cakes, cookies and soups from their small, storefront bakery on W.118th Street in Harlem for many years. The jewel in their culinary crown, however, is rugelach, that buttery, flaky pastry most often served at Rosh Hashanah and other holiday dinners. Traditionally the best rugelach came from the lower eastside or Zabar's but in 2001, Mr. Lee who hails from the Caribbean, became a spoiler producing the best rugelach in New York City par none. Other Mr. Lee sweets include Red Velvet cake, lemon pound cake, scones and various other delights. It's worth a few extra pounds to eat one or more with a good cup of coffee.
