“Awesome night in NYC”
Reviewed 24 September 2013

we're so pleased that we made it to Cafe Wha! My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience....we luckily caught for an earlier act - Julie E, who was awesome. The house band were the main event...so many great musicians on such a small stage. All were excellent and delivered a high spirited evening of quite diverse music taste, from Peter Gabriel, through Oasis to Tina Turner and Adele! We were lucky as it wasn't too busy...about 60% full, which meant our seating was ok, but if this place was full it would be very cramped and not so easy for both of a couple to see, On the up side, the basement, low ceiling, packed in type of venue makes for an excellent atmosphere. Would thoroughly recommend anyone with a taste for live music attending during their visit

“Possibly the best night out EVER”
Reviewed 29 July 2013

Went to NYC in February 2013 with a group of girls for a 40th birthday, and decided to go here after a recommendation from one of the girl's as she'd previously been here. The band were outstanding, all excellent musicians and singers playing such a wide spectrum of music from all decades! Initially we were tightly packed in, just goes to show how popular this place is, we decided to stay all night and pay for the additional sets. When some people decided to leave (GOD KNOWS WHY!) we had more room and were able to make the most of this by dancing our butts off! Haven't stopped talking about this place since returning to the UK and will be top of my to do list for my next visit!

“So much fun we skipped the Comedy Cellar and stayed all night”
Reviewed 23 July 2013

We were in NYC for the weekend and were on the standby list for the Comedy Cellar for the 11pm show. Since it was only 9:30 we were walking away to find a bar to camp out at until it was time to get back in line, and we were glad the door person for Cafe Wha nabbed us on our way by. We were seated by the super-friendly staff who clearly have a great time and love their jobs. There were lots of great tables and we had excellent service all night with frequent drink refills. We saw Alan Havey do some stand-up and he was hilarious, and then hugely enjoyed the talented house band, with four different (all fantastic) lead singers that night. The house band is very interactive and plays all the cover songs you'd want to hear, and the crowd gets really involved, with a bunch of people dancing.
