“Only if you REALLY want to see the performer”
Review of Roseland Ballroom - CLOSED

The advantage of this venue is that there is a place for the band to play and for the audience to stand. If you like history, you can imagine that you're seeing it all around you.

I'm so thankful that we got in line early enough to get to the rail at the stage. Otherwise, we'd be getting hotter and hotter while smelling the rest of the crowd - all while trying to see above their heads. We got Mezzanine tickets as a fall-back, but never made the trip up. If you're not in the VIP seating, you're so far back from the stage that you probably have to go through the Lincoln Tunnel to get there.

So, if you love the performer - go, and get in line early so that you can get up front. But if you can get to a better venue, or if you're not nuts about the performer, go somewhere else.

Saw X and Blondie here last week. Stood downstairs for X, and was up in the balcony for Blondie. Excellent view from both locations as it is a small venue

Went to the Vampire Weekend show and it was great. The music, while loud, was clear, balanced and didn't leave us with ringing eardrums. Enough room to move around, bathrooms are in the basement, clean as can be expected. The bars were well staffed, drinks NYC priced, $18 for a double vodka on the rocks. Would definitely go back!

My husband and I went to a Pretty Lights show in December and really enjoyed the venue. They had coat check (which was a MUST at that time of year) and lots of different viewing areas for the stage. This was an electronic music event so it was mostly dancing but the left wall facing the stage is lined wth two platforms for standing or sitting. The area is large & open but also has a mezannine level for great views of the stage. There's also a main bar in the back and a smaller hidden bar to the back left of the stage that no one seemed to know about! Great for all types of events!

Saw Phil Lesh and friends here. Beautiful, friendly place. The VIP upstairs is a lovely view and not crowded at all.
