“The NY Gilbert & Sullivan Players”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 January 2014

Every New Year's Eve we go with friends to the Symphony Space to see the NY Gilbert& Sullivan Players.
This year it was a production of Pirates of Penzance and as usual it was a terrific production. Well sung and funny.
The Symphony Space is a nice old theater and presents a wide variety of entertainment. The variety and quality of entertainment combined with reasonable ticket prices and its location so convenient for public transport makes it a nice venue for locals and tourists. I recommend it highly for both.

“NYC Debut: Lunch Money and Belle et Bête Present: Planet Hopping Planet”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 December 2013

Saturday, January 4, 2014. 11 am: Planet Hopping is an exciting new collaboration between Columbia, SC, puppetry duo Belle et Bête and kindie rock band, Lunch Money. Using original live music and various puppetry techniques, including hand puppets, marionettes, and elaborate video projections featuring actual NASA footage, Planet Hopping is the story of a young pilot and her robot sidekick as they travel through the solar system. Planet Hopping will take the audience on a rocket ship voyage from earth to the stars, exploring the mysteries of the planets and the importance of friendship and family. The show mixes elements of sci-fi and intergalactic rock and roll with real lessons about our solar system.
An interplanetary musical voyage featuring an indie rock score by Lunch Money and handcrafted puppetry by Belle et

“Bloomsday bloomed on Broadway & 95”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 June 2013

If you've never been to a reading of James Joyce's Ulysses, this is a must-do in NYC. Hundreds of actors participate, reading their parts with great comic and dramatic intensity. This year's reading featured Robert McNeil and Barbara Feldon, but the lesser-known Irish actors were phenomenal. The theater is spacious and sitting in the balcony, gives you an interesting bird's eye view. If you are in NY in mid-June, plan to visit this UWS cultural icon.
