“The most expensive mojito in my life!”
Reviewed 2 April 2010

We were there with my wife 10 days ago. The night performance was developed by a Brazilian jazz (samba singer). Entrance $ 10, and $12 each mojito (serve in little glass)...We payed $60 + tax for 5 mojitos + $20 the entrance for 2....almost $80 for 2 hours acceptable music.

“Perfect little jazz bar.”
Reviewed 20 August 2009

It's tiny; maybe seats 40. But, oh, what a lucky 40 people they would be. If you like live music, good company, interesting conversation and the chance of some of the finest musicians in the world strolling in to jam with the house band then this bar, my friend, is for you. The bartender (David?) is a King amongst his peers and the owner seems so thrilled to personally hear such great music, he gets carried away - and takes us all with him. A true NYC experience.

“Easy going, cozy jazz(ish) club - nice owner and people - in Greenwich Village”
Reviewed 16 April 2009

We visited the Zinc Bar during our trip to NYC. A cool Afro Jazz band was playing (Mandingo Ambassadors) and it was a great place to hang out and listen to some live music.

“A lovely Sunday lunch”
Reviewed 9 December 2007

I sat at the zinc bar, a woman visiting NYC alone, on a Sunday at lunchtime. The bartenders were pleasant and attentive, the tuna Nicoise was excellent, served in a large, deep bowl with ultrathin-sliced celery root and nice pale anchovies, small French-style olives and a little dab of ratatouille, with a basket of excellent crusty bread. The preppy students sitting next to me had the large croques-madame and frites -- both smelled and looked wonderful. The place was crazy-crowded, but happily so on this winter afternoon. Some rose wine, served a la francaise in short tumblers, and I was feeling all right. A totally pleasant Sunday lunch!
