My purpose was a statue of Nathan Hale.
A soldier of the American Revolution who was considered as a spy during the intelligence-gathering mission.
Then captured by the British.
He is probably best remembered for his purported last words before being hanged: "I only regret that I have but one life to give for my country."
Only 21 years old, wow!
Unfortunately I Couldn't go in the front of his statue due to City Hall rehabilitation plan at that time.

A nice park centered near City Hall. Not Much to see unless your interested in Photography. There are no attractions. You will be able to see nearby spots such as City Hall. (For safety purposes City Hall is no longer available to the general tourist unless having business there.)
From here you can reach J&R Music (Over Priced but a wide variety of electronics to choose from), The Brooklyn, Bridge, The World Trade center/911 Memorial + shopping at Century 21 and nearby South Street Seaport.

Cool little park near subway Brooklyn Bride /City Hall. If planning day trip to battery park, 9/11 memorial, financial district or other nearby lower Manhattan sites, then grab some street food and relax for an hour and enjoy some sculpture. Quiet respite from the pushing, compact crowds of the SoLiberty ferry and memorial.

One of my favorite things to do in NYC is take the subway to the "High Street" stop in Brooklyn and then walk the bridge from the Brooklyn side to Manhattan. The bridge is full of mixed culture and sights - never a dull moment. It's great to watch the city unfold. The City Hall park - just a block from the foot of the bridge - is a beautiful spot to stop, sit and take a few moments to relax before getting back into the hustle and bustle. (It's walking distance to the site of the Freedom Tower construction). As a bonus, there's an outdoor sculpture exhibit in the park called "Common Ground" that's fun and interesting. It will be there through November 2012.
