In a basic setting. But the food is pretty darn good. Amazing value for NYC. I loved the Lamb Korma. Not licensed so BYOB. There is a $15 price fix 3 course menu or single dishes are around $12 each. 10% off with a Yelp checkin.

Thank NigelMA

Menu is simple, not crowded or complicated. Priced reasonably, 3 course meal(appetizer, entree & dessert) for only $14.95!! Restaurant is on the second floor (walk-up). Moderate size with window view of the street at some tables. Staff is courteous and helpful.

Wonderful vindaloo flavorful rather than just spicy very reasonably priced. A real find. The decor is simple. BYOB is nice too.

This is a mid-town restaurant that has reasonable prices and great food.
Go just a little past the time the theatre crowd has dined and you will get more attentive service.
The prix fix dinner is a great value and the ability to bring your own booze with no corkage fee-makes Bengal Tiger a great bargain,

Its indeed quite difficult to find these second floor restaurant but it was worth the time I spent searching this place.I dont know how just one person (at least when I went) can be waiter, host and cashier and at the same time deliver a wonderful service.he has a thorough knowledge of the menu and can be a great advisor to those who are not very familiar with the indian food.its too bad that they dont serve alcohol (guess they dont have a license yet) because it would be nice to pair those amazing dishes with an according wine).the only failure I find to this place is that they have to be more specific when they mention the levels of spiceness of the plates,I asked it to be medium and mentioned that I dont like my food to be very spicy and he confirmed that medium wasnt a lot but indeed it was!,next time I would ask it to be low so it would end up being medium level.besides that its one of the best indian places I have had the opportunity to visit
