Stayed at the Gramercy Park Hotel, over the Labour Day weekend. What a great hotel: convenient location, attentive service, well designed spaces.
I had a room that faced Lexington Avenue and was at first apprehensive -- noise. However, had a great night's sleep. There's a rooftop bar that gets busy, however, the staff was diligent in escorting you to a separate elevator.
The room was a bit too dark for my taste and there was a dearth of outlets.
Ordered room service, my last day there and the meal arrived promptly -- definitely try the yoghurt and vin cot to with fruit. AMAZING.

I loved staying at this hotel. The decor was very edgy and cool. It was like staying in a very wealthy HBO-style vampire's mansion. It was a bit dark with awesome furtniture and decorations from international destinations and different time periods. The service was also good and friendly. I would totally recommend this hotel for anyone wanting a party weekend and something very different from your average business-like hotel.

Room Tip: I just booked a regular room and found that it was awesome. When I returned another time to stay at...

Recent stay in the penthouse suite was exceptional. Like a baronial mansion in the sky with luxurious velvets, dark woods, deep paint colors on walls. Wonderful setting to entertain. Hotel staff were beyond outstanding in their responsiveness to requests and willingness to say "yes" to pretty much anything. For $150 post-stay cleaning fee, our small dog was welcome too.

Downstairs bar is a hot cross-section of world travelers. Restaurant is quite good--especially for brunch--with nice street view of park. Rooftop terrace bar is super cool space, too.

Every inch of this hotel is romantic and sophisticated with a touch of edginess and lot's of hip vibe without ever crossing over into "tragic." All this does not come cheaply, but the Gramercy Park Hotel delivers.

Spent 4 wonderful nights here for New Years eve 2008 with some friends.

This hotel blew me away, the decor, the art work, the service, the ambiance, the martinis, and even the smell in the lobby (thanks to GPH specifically designed candles).

This is easily the best hotel in NYC, and I've stayed in all the competition (Hudson, Royalton, W hotel etc).

The only negative is the standard rooms are a bit small, but that's typical for NYC.

Had the time of my life.

Spacious rooms, great service, friendly and helpfull staff/concierge and good location. Also seems to be somewhat of a hot spot with lobby bar (forget the name) looking busy although sadly did not have time to check it out. Will definately go back.

The room, booked online with a substantial discount, was sombre and smallish for the price, yet very tastefully decorated in dark blues and reds. Attention to tiniest details (toiletteries from Mario Badescu, a note with tomorrow's weather every night) added class. Don't miss the museum-worthy collection of modern art, featuring Fernando Botero, Damien Hirst, etc. The rooftoop bar is exquisitely stylish. The service is correct, albeit somewhat frosty. Too bad they don't give you the key to the Park, but let you in and out for a fixed period of time.

Top-notch service matches draw-dropping atmosphere for a great Labor Day Weekend!

The public spaces can't be matched anywhere. Loved the aroma in the lobby - what was that? And my loft room was amazing - I haven't seen furnishings and decor like this anywhere. I loved the bar in the room!

Having access to the park itself is still quite a perk, and spending a half hour inside is a tranquil respite from the rest of the city.

Only downside was room service one night - unfriendly order taker coupled with incorrect order (three significant mistakes delivered) put a slight damper on the evening. Eat in the hotel restaurant or one of the great restaurants nearby instead. Still, this didn't distract from the overall great experience, but did knock it down from five stars to four.

I'll be back.

Room Tip: My Loft Room had a nice big leather table and plenty of seats (two chairs, a sofa and ottoman) that...
