This hotel was perfect for our trip and we got a great rate on Travel zoo. This was our first visit to New York so we did a lot of sight seeing and weren't spending a lot of time in the hotel itself. Everything was new and everyone working there was very nice. Yes the rooms were a little small, but as I learned, so is every other space in NYC. The water pressure was not very good but they have full size blow dryers that work well. They could probably upgrade on the toilet paper. Different times of the day the elevators took a while, but go pretty fast once you get in. Big plus was that they were able to let us check in very early and were also able to accommodate a late check out. It is also in a great location.

Just stayed here March 15th and 16th. Arrived at 11AM and was given a room right away. Nice new clean rooms, elevators were always fast. Only issue we had was the fitted sheet on the bed did not fit the nice new extra pillow top mattress. One one side of the bed it barely went an inch down the side of the mattress. Of course it popped off during the night. Have encountered this issue at other brand new hotels. Seems like a shame they spend a lot of money for nice beds, and then don't have fitted sheets that actually fit the mattress. The bed itself was very comfortable. Overall had a pleasant stay. Booked the Travelzoo rate of $119, so that was SWEET for a nice new property.

This is one of the newer Hilton properties in Manhattan, and it shows. The staff has an enthusiastic attitude to customer service. The rooms are small (as most business class hotels in NYC are), but well-appointed. Spacious showers, and the room noise level is low. Great location for access to Carnegie Hall, Central park, and theater district, etc. Housekeeping did a good job. Only complaint was the minuscule closet. Not much space to hang anything. My first stay I needed a tutorial on how to work the thermostat. Having hit many of the Hilton properties in Manhattan, I can say this is one of the nicer ones.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms away from elevator.

We spent 4 nights of spring break in this new Hilton Garden Inn. It was very convenient to the southern end of Central Park, to Columbus Circle, and to the theater district/Times Square (and literally around the corner from the Ed Sullivan Theater (David Letterman). We easily walked to theaters, but also often chose the subway - we were 2 blocks from the 57th/7th stop on the N,Q,R line and about 2 blocks from the 1,2,3 line. So we easily traveled to Little Italy, Chinatown, World Trade Ctr, SoHo, and more.

The room had 2 queen beds for 3 adults. Beds were comfortable. It was very nicely decorated, but a little small for 3 adults - better for 1-2 people. But it worked ok. Bathroom had a nice walk-in showere (no tub) but we really liked that better than a tub. We were on 5th out of 34 floors so basically no view except another bldg.

Front desk staff were very, very friendly and helpful all the time. Managers were always visible and asking us how things were.

Lobby was very nice and had free coffee in the mornings and a warm gas fireplace.

Valet parking was easy, attendants very friendly. Parking is $55 additional per night and we had a problem with them charging us for 6 nights instead of 4, so had to call back for credit when we discovered that. But they resolved it within 24 hours.

The only problem we had was that the housekeeping service was sub-standard and even non-existent one day. The first day we were in and out of the room, but they didn't clean until about 4pm. The second day we had up the do-not disturb sign until 11:45am and then left for the day - They NEVER CLEANED our room. When we returned at 6pm to discover it had not been serviced, we were told by the front desk that it was now too late. They brought us towels but offered no apology as if it was our fault. The third day we made sure we got out early and so it did get cleaned. But if you want to use this convenient hotel as home base during the day, expect to return to an unclean room throughout the day and just hope it will get cleaned. I'd recommend you check before 4pm to see if it got cleaned so you can call for service if it did not.

Oh, and also they only have 3 elevators for 34 guest floors plus basement. Elevator service is terrible. We usually walked because you would wait 10 minutes for an elevator. The housekeeping staff and other workers usually kept at least 1 elevator out of service as they apparently do not have a separate staff elevator.

We loved the overall convenience though and it was a nice hotel.

Room Tip: Choose a low floor so you can walk up and down the stairs because you can expect to wait 5 - 15 minu...

Travelled with a friend between 09 and 13 March 2013:

Good Points:

Location is good; close to Broadway & Times Square - good bar/ restaurant over the road called Iguana!

Coffee in the lobby in the morning was a good idea - and appreciated. Nice lobby area and helpful staff.

Clean rooms; nice comfy beds & hot shower.

Not so good points:

The lifts/ elevators took an age to arrive each morning....quite frustrating!

The bathroom had a sliding wooden door which didn't close properly (by design) - didn't feel very private!

Loud air con & quite small room - though neither of which were problematic.

Overall, a nice hotel in a good part of the city.

We got a great rate for this hotel for four nights so we couldn't pass it up. We arrived early and our room was not ready- no biggy as they stored our bags for us. We arrived back at 330 ( check in at 3 ) and our room was still not ready. I found this annoying but decided to just relax in the lobby and wait it out. We waited until four and they finally had our room ready. Weird thing was- once we were in the room housekeeping strolled in without knocking to put towels in the bathroom- just a bit bizarre. I would have loved it if my hubby was strolling around in his underwear! And another day we arrived back after a long day of exploring well after five and housekeeping was in our room and asked us to come back?? Ah well..not a big deal but annoying as I was pooped!

We had two queen beds on the 16th floor. Room was super quiet and we had fantastic sleeps. Location can not be beat and we ate at a number of great spots nearby and were able to pick up items for breakfast at the small health food store a few doors down.

Would we return to the hotel? For sure!

I stayed at this hotel for two days and it was a NIGHTMARE!!!!! The front desk staff are very rude ,and I asked to talk with the front desk manager and she was worse than her employees, No wonder her employees are so rude because she is the Leader by example. I think these people should not work in hospitality or any instituation that deals with customer service.

I wouldn't recommend anyone to stay at this hotel.
