Description: The first uptown New York location by legendary chef Nobu Matsuhisa, opened to much anticipation in the summer of 2005. Nobu's co-owners are his longtime partners: renowned restaurateur Drew Nieporent, Oscar-winning actor Robert De Niro, and producer Meir Teper. The restaurant showcases Nobu's signature New Style Japanese cuisine with classic dishes such as Yellowtail Sashimi with Jalapeno and Black Cod Miso, and new creations from the wood burning oven and the hibachi table.

always one of the great experiences to go to Nobu. We like the ones in Los Angeles and were very impressed with the 57. King crab tempura is divine !
As it was at the end of the luncheon hours, service was a bit slow.

We asked around to a few locals about must try's while in NYC. Nobu 57 came up frequently so we knew we had to try to get in. It's was a Friday night and this was one of the hottest spots to get into. We took a chance and walked in hoping to get a no show or cancellation. We drank some yummy but expensive drinks in the bar while we waited for a table upstairs in the dining area. After about 1 hour we were seated upstairs in the dining area. We had some incredible food - the jalapeño tuna and lobster tacos were the highlight of the meal! Highly recommend it was small portions and we just kept trying and ordering more plates. Very expensive for small portions but so worth it!

We where a group of six people and we loved the place. The service was exceptional and the restaurant itself was cool and beautiful. We arrived 15 minutues too late due to heavy traffic but that was no problem the staff offered us a table right away although it was rush hour! The food was exceptional and definitely worth the penny!

We went here mainly because Howard Stern had raved about it as had other celebs. Food and service were outstanding. We began with the edamame which is steamed or roasted over salt, yum! We then had a mixture of different Sushi cut rolls. We eat a lot of sushi and this was superb. Interesting vegetable one. Had hints of veggies I've never had before. We finished it off with the morochi ice cream, fabulous. This place gets jammed and reservations are a must. Small bar downstairs where few people can sit. They have reserved spots in the bar, which is not a great idea if you are going to keep people waiting. Definitely go back!

An excellent opening for a birthday evening of dinner and opera: We arrived before the dining room opened (5:45) and found a small table near the busy bar. We would have been happy to just sit and wait there but an attentive server found us. We had time for a kir, Kathy’s favorite “test” of a high-end bar. It was very well made and followed by an intense Sauvignon blanc from New Zealand, Squealing Pig. They had a modest sake list and I tried hokusetsu nigari, dry smooth, creamy. At the right moment, we were moved with our unfinished drinks to the dining room. Very good atmosphere and filled up quickly, but no challenge for Lindsey, our excellent, friendly server. She understood we needed to leave in time for the opera and was able to work with us on that. We patched together a feast from a menu filled with an abundance of options. Memorable items included the opening: a shared partially cooked yellowfin tuna sashimi salad with jalapeño and Matsuhisa dressing. Small sips of my sake from the bar seemed to complement everything. Main dishes were creamy spicy crab and then sea bass with eggplant, each better than the last. Although busy, the servers had a way of seeing that each table was an island of calm, excellent Manhattan ambiance.
