My husband and I visited Manhattan for the first time. This hotel is new- opened June 2014. Very modern and clean, friendly helpful staff, esp Eddie . They were also very accommodating. We arrived at noon and they provided us with an early check in. Our room was spacious. This hotel also is well equipped for wheelchair accessibility. This Hilton is ideally located close to a train station on Lexington, so very easy to get to and from JFK (using the E train). Also close to a pharmacy, a diner-Tree Haus and good shopping on upper Lexington- ALDO, VS, Kenneth Cole, H&M, Bloomingdales etc.
We booked this hotel 2 months in advance and got a steal of a deal. We can't wait to visit again.

This new hotel's location is exceptionally convenient, which was great for a family on vacation in NYC. What truly made a difference in our visit, though, was the people working there. Ty at the front desk was one of the most caring, thoughtful people I have ever met in a hotel environment. Being from a small town, my young daughter was not used to seeing people living on the street, and was crying about it when we returned to the hotel. Ty took the time to comfort her, but also surprised us by leaving the most heartfelt note under our door, letting my daughter know she had checked on the homeless people, and my daughter did not need to worry! This meant so much to her, but it was not the only note we received under our door during our three nights at this hotel. We were celebrating my other daughter's birthday during our trip, and were surprised to return to our room that night, and find a birthday card from the hotel staff waiting for her!
From Ty, Lee, and Maria at the front desk, to Igor, Ellie, and Beatrice in the breakfast area, to James the Front Office Manager, to "Ready" Eddie, to Lowell the GM, every member of the staff at this hotel made us feel not only welcome, but also special.
While some other reviewers seem to be focusing on some of the kinks that this new hotel is working out, I want people to know what a caring, thoughtful, and truly "human" team is staffing the Hilton Garden Inn.
Thanks to all of you for making our visit so special!

Place is brand new! Great staff! Upgraded us to a city view on a really high floor, and checked us in early knowing it was me and my Twin Sister's bday. The elevator was a little slow but nothing too awful. Eddie and Brian were fantastic! Will def stay again!!!

Only open 9 days when we stayed there. Every thing was new. Only 8 rooms to a floor and the rooms are small. According to the elevator map, we didn't have the smallest room, the room connecting to ours looked to be smaller. Only one person could fit in bathroom at a time, ottoman had to be moved to get to the bed, desk chair had to be at lowest to fit under desk or we wouldn't be able to walk between bed and desk. Very quiet, very comfortable beds (though they didn't have the dial-a-bed at this location) but only two elevators which moved fast but were very slow as they are also used by housekeeping and there are 27 floors to go up and down. New hotel glitches should hopefully be taken care of -- going back this week so I'll let you know. Soap dishes hadn't yet been installed, housekeeping still trying to figure out where to store their carts -- blocked ice machines on one floor, non working on another. We spent very little time in room so it all worked out. The staff were all very helpful

I arrived early and Natacha at the front desk was particularly kind in trying to get me into my room as soon as possible.

The location on East 52nd is very convenient to the E/M and 6 subway lines. The 24-hour Duane Reads on 3rd Ave (around the corner) is a nice plus. Taxis are pretty easy to find on the avenues (2nd and 3rd).

My room was a king with outdoor terrace, which actually had a nice urban view. The room itself was not as small as I would have expected. There was ample room to move around. The bathroom is decent; there is a sink with a full-sized counter and plenty of space for your stuff. The shower opposite the sink (there was no tub) is a good-sized walk-in. The bathroom has a powerful fan, which you'll need to for the shower's steam but it's also a nice touch for privacy if you're sharing the room. My 25th floor room was pretty quiet.

Breakfast in the restaurant was part of my room deal, and it was an above-average experience. You can have an omelette freshly made, and there was a belgian waffle station, too. Fresh fruit, yogurt and various pastries were also offered.

I'd definitely stay here again. The staff are very friendly and the location worked out great for me because of the subway access.
