“Excellent Conference Facility”

Just attended a national conference at the Hilton. The location is excellent, the rooms updated, the conference service at lunch and in exhibit areas top notch. Our room was very small but it was well appointed and designed.
Dining at the hotel facilities is overpriced, but there are superb food trucks within a block and a the Cafe Metro on 57 & 3rd for a wide array of eat-in/take-out healthy and fresh choices from breakfast through dinner.

The hotel is within walking distance to the theaters, museums, shopping, Central Park, Times Square, etc. The room was a little on the smaller side but very clean, updated and comfortable. They provided down pillows and the bed was very comfortable. The room did not have a mini fridge. I checked the hotel rate 2 days before check in and found that it went down $70.00 so I rebooked at the lower price. They also offer various additional discounts like AAA,AARP, etc. which lowered the room price another $10.00.

A great location with lots of sights and things to do near by, but they should really give out ear plugs. I'm on the 19th floor and it is loud enough that I feel like I'm at ground level. So I suggest you ask for a room up on a higher floor if you don't like to be lulled to sleep by NYC's dulcet tones of honking. It seems to be subsiding at 12:30 am so if you're planning a night out on the town until really late, you should be ok. I just expected it to be a bit quieter since it's not in Times Square.

It's a Hilton and has the usual decor, bed and toiletries, though no robe. My only other complaint is that the water isn't very hot in the shower which is weird since I just took a shower at 11:30 pm not 7 am. It's a big sprawling place however so maybe hot water is in short supply or lots of people like to take a shower before bed.

Staff in all areas were very friendly and helpful.Location was great for seeing the sights. Only downside was the price of drinks, but that's nothing new for the Hilton group worldwide. On my next visit to NYC I will be choosing this hotel.

We Stayed in the middle of July on a weekend. The hotel was quite busy and service levels reflected the fact that they were not quite staffed for the number of quests staying. They had a diamond / executive desk which helped a little, but oddly they would not allow us to check in before 3:00 PM - not one minute early (I do understand this a standard published time, but to be turned away at 5 before 3:00 and told to come back at 3 was new for me). We were not the only ones, because right at 3 the desks were jammed and the wait was long. Our room, while booked as "deluxe", was drab and dark with no view. It was on a low floor and the elevators for those floors were slow and over crowded. All of this was surprising because I had reserved well in advance and am a diamond level frequent guest with Hilton. On the positive side, the staff was helpful, when available, and the concierge did provide some good advice for meals and entertainment. If you don't mind crowds and lines this is a reasonable hotel. If you desire a more personal level of service I would not recommend it during busy times.

Room Tip: Wifi is not included with all room rates. Arrange for a higher floor for better view and light.

The Presidential Suite at the Hilton Midtown does not mean you will be treated like a president, or in our case not even like a guest. Besides the Assistant Property Manager, Angelo, and Rosa from the concierge, the rest of your staff does not have any commitment to service excellence or the appropriate steps to take care of a guest. The first evening that we arrived after 11pm we called guest services to request silverware and plates (surprised this wasn't part of the bar in the presidential suite). Despite our request, we were told we could not get this. I asked why it wasn't possible to get this and advised plastic ware would work. We were told that everything in the hotel was locked up. Later that evening when we went down the hotel and asked the bell staff to catch a taxi for us as it was late in the evening, we were told "you can do it yourself, just stand by the curb". This was completed BELOW my expectations and unacceptable for not only a Diamond Member, but ANY guest staying at your hotel. Our jacuzzi tub wouldn't work and engineering had to jimmy-rig it. We were advised that we would receive drink tickets that we never received. When I contacted guest services and spoke to David, he advised he would speak to the manager and get back to us. We never heard back from him. The following morning we were interrupted again mid morning by another manager and engineering to check out the bathtub. As we were advised on Friday, there was no way to fix the tub properly during our stay. So why the need to interrupt our stay ANOTHER time? Why not contact us to find out a time we would be out of the room? That evening we order in-room dining. In ALL of my hotel experiences, I never ONCE have received an in-room dining order served to me in a brown lunch bag.The day of our check out I woke up to a carpet that was soaking wet in the master bedroom. At this point I was ready to leave. This has been one of the worst experiences I have ever had as a guest. I came to the hotel to relax and do business and relaxation was NEVER part of this trip. The staff was inconsiderate and clearly don't know what it means to "WOW" a guest or simply take care of a guest.

I'm not a fussy traveller but I found the smell of the hotel very off-putting especially in the room and along the corridors of my floor. The pillows smelt of sweat before being used and replacements also smelt the same.

The service was quite rude at the front desk and I was made to pay twice until they found my original payment in the system. Despite this not being my fault I was made to feel like it was and I didn't get an apology at the end.
