“Great location”
Reviewed 4 August 2014

We loved the location on our first family trip to NYC. The room was fine but we hardly spent any time in it. Loved that we could walk to Central Park, Times Square and Rockefeller Centre. My only complaint is that they didn't have free wi-fi but was able to go to the lobby get it free. Would definitely return.

Green Features: Need recycle bins! Why don't these big cities have more recycle bins?

This hotel is within walking distance to many attractions including Times Square. Unfortunately, for the price you pay you would expect a cleaner room and one with better maintenance. Housekeeping didn't leave towels and I could have done a better job making my own bed. Dirty dishes were left in the hallway and the noise level was not conducive to rest.

Prior to going to NY with my family and having read some of the reviews I was bit worried - unnecessarily! This hotel is great, central location (perfect location for sightseeing actually) - close to central park and times square. All clean, well maintained, good service, great rooms - nothing to complain about! Would stay here again!

Located just a few blocks from central park, this hotel is in the middle of everything you would want to see in Midtown (MoMa, Times Square, Rockefeller Center) and close the subway. The rooms are nothing special but in NYC location is everything.

Normal fair for NYC, not a bad hotel, rooms clean, tidy and fresh. Bathroom supplies all good. What, no coffee and tea in the room? Wait a minute, highly priced coffee bar in the lobby, oh I get it now. Lobby is nicely appointed and spacious, plenty of friendly staff, and lots of space to maneuver through the high volume of people milling around.
Price for the room was good value for the location, which was really close to Times Square, Rockerfeller Center and various shopping areas. Not far from Central Park to, so again price was good, and everything in midtown was easy to get to.
The bar was nice that we grabbed a drink in, however hiding the automatically added gratuity in the middle of the bill, and still leaving a line up for gratuity is not classy.
We went to investigate the buffet breakfast, and found it to $45 per person not including taxes. Now I am not cheap, but that seems to me to be a little much. We declined as our bill would be not far short of $200 for breakfast. There are plenty of places to grab breakfast on a Sunday.
Overall good solid hotel, not bad room prices, just some niggles around the cost of extra's. I would still recommend the hotel (and will be back) just not going to eat breakfast there, and keep an eye on my bar bill!

so many people leaving bad reveiws need to get a life.the hotel has nearly 2000 rooms&is over 50 yrs old&is in centre manhattan so common sense tells you this place will be mega busy/loud/parts old&worn.its common knowledge the exec floor is the first phase in a huge room renovation.the staff are under so much pressure to deliver but obviously cant get it right all the time(yes thats real life) and the people leaving bad feedback about such menial stupid pointless things need to get a life or you have too much time on your hands.if your visiting nyc you surely must know it aint gonna be relaxing.the reveiw about the lost wallet expecting the hotel to cough up funds lol (really)

Recently stayed 3 nights here with my husband and 2 kids. Read many mixed reviews so wasn't sure what to expect. Very pleased with the hotel. Great location -- within walking distance of Times Square and Central Park, close enough to walk down Broadway, and near many local delis and restaurants. We arrived late Friday night; the registration line was 15+ people long with only 1 staff person at the desk. Luckily, I am a HiltonHonors members and was able to take advantage of checking in at the member desk. Still, only one person working there too and we waited about 10 minutes. Not a big deal, but was surprised at the small number of staff working at the registration desk considering the numbers of people waiting to check in. Hotel was very clean, all the staff were very friendly. Our room was larger than expected; not the tiny room I expected from previous trips to NYC. Plenty of counter/dresser space. Soundproof rooms; no noise from adjoining rooms or hallways or even outside noise. The hotel was very busy with a large conference going on but lobby is huge and we never felt over-crowded. Restaurant was very pricey ($45 per person for breakfast buffet?!) but we found a great deli right across the street where we ate breakfast. Two comments: I was forewarned about no coffee/tea maker in the rooms but hoped that was a false rumor. Sadly, it was not. Pretty stunning flaw. Even considerably less expensive hotels like the Best Western provide coffee/tea makers!! Also appreciated that we got free wifi in our rooms but only because of the Hiltonhonors membership. Overall, we were very pleased and would stay here again.
