“Amazing hotel, excellent location!”
Reviewed 25 December 2012

We stayed for 9 days at this hotel during our honeymoon in July and we loved every minute of it! The room was quite spacious, bed was comfortable and we had no problems with storage. It's an amazing luxury hotel, with very professional staff and excellent concierge service! And its location is its best asset, right in the middle of midtown, a couple of blocks from MOMA and Central Park, and close to two subway stations that take you everywhere in the city. All in all its one of the best hotels we stayed at and its worth every penny!

Room Tip: Try higher floor rooms

The location for the hotel is very convenient and the room (suite) was spacious. Both times I was here, my wife felt the room was decorated too sparsely and too masculine. The double shower is a nice touch but double sinks would be more practical. The towels were not very plush and were scratchy. The value for the price is excellent but the overall feeling for the hotel leaves something to be desired. Nicer for a business trip than a couple.

We decided to stay at the London as it came highly recommended by friends of ours, we weren't disappointed one little bit! It is a very unstated hotel and very classy indeed. The reception area doesn't really do the rest of the hotel justice but it does it's job! The bar area was good and the cocktails even better! We also dined in the Gordon Ramsay restaurant which was pricey but a must if you like fine dining experiences!
Our room was lovely, i say room i mean suite! This consisted of a lounge/relaxing area, bathroom with double shower and then the bedroom with King size bed.

The lounge: In the lounge there was a seat and a sofa, a desk, tv and mini bar.

The Bathroom: Double shower, sink, toilet, clean towels every day and lovely toiletries

The Bedroom: Fantastically comfortable bed, draws and hanging space for clothes, tv, iron, ironing board, hairdryer

( electric curtains and net curtains! ( little things! ) )

The location of the hotel was great, could not have been better. It is a 5 minute walk from Times square but far enough away from the hustle and bustle! Only 5 minutes away from all of the shops on 5th/6Th av too! Close to central park and the Rockafella centre, again only a maximum of 10 minutes walk away! Broadway also 5 mins walk away!

There is a good pub opposite too!

Tube/metro stations are close by.

Please try this hotel as it really does live up to expectations. Loved it and would return!

Well located, this expensive NYC hotel prides itself on its trendy image. Unfortunately trendy many times means "not so comfortable." The couch in the sitting area remains among the most uncomfortable I have experienced, the chair laughable. No closet, just a hip rod to hang your clothes on.
If you like classic rooms, pass, otherwise not an awful choice, but expensive.

We stayed at the London for five nights. Hotel is conveniently located and very comfortable. Staff are helpful and friendly. Concierges were all very knowledgeable and seemed to always pick great restaurants for us to try. Would definitely recommend.

We ended up at the London on the recommendation of our travel agent and we were very happy with it. First off, it’s a great location for shopping, Broadway shows and upper eastside museums. Everything was either an easy walk or readily accessible via subway (with a stop just a block away). (Note, cabs can be tough to find in NY, especially during the holiday season, and one of the nice touches of the hotel was that it had a house car that was available on a first-come, first-serve basis).

The rooms (which area suites) were quite large, especially by NYC standards. We had a bedroom with a king size bed and an enormous living room with a large sofa, a chair and a desk. The bathroom was long and narrow, but had a large vanity (with only one sink though) and a separate rain shower that had fabulous water pressure (but not great drainage, as there was often an inch of water accumulated by the end of the shower). I would also suggest asking for a room on the highest floor that is available as street noise can sometimes be heard from the rooms, although it didn’t prevent us from sleeping (and the room darkening curtains worked very well both for the light and to help dampen the noise).

We also had the buffet breakfast included and that was a good value. The buffet included pastries, cereals, meats and cheeses, bagels & lox, a good assortment of fresh fruit, as well as coffee (including cappuccinos and lattes) and juice.

Service at the hotel was generally quite good – the doormen were helpful in hailing a cab, the concierge service was adept at getting hard to find theater tickets and booking dinner reservations, and we forgot one of our passports in the safe and the security service readily arranged to send it back to us. On the downside, the maid service consistently came when we were still in the room (around 9:30) but they would come back when we asked them to. There was also one hiccup in our reservation when they only had us booked for 2 nights instead of 3, but they readily corrected that when I realized the mistake.

Also, one minor miss in the hotel design in my opinion is that the lobby of the hotel has no place to sit down if you’re waiting for someone.

All-in-all, the London Hotel was a comfortable experience and provided a great base to explore to NYC. We’d definitely return.

I and my wife have been using Hotel London NYC for our stay in NYC for some three years now; If you book early you get an outstanding suite with a separate bed room, total space about 500 sq ft, for between 400-600 dollars depending on time of travel. We usually stay from 3-4 days. Everything is outstanding about this hotel. To us it is even better than the Trump Tower at Columbus Circle with its highly oversized furnitutre and garrishness. Located between 7th and 6th avenues on the 54th st, you could not ask for a better location.
