We went to stay in NY and my brother told me The London was a really nice hotel located in mid town. And was he correct. We had a lovely room and great space. It was a much better set up than much more expensive hotels such as the Waldorf . It's very modern but well done. The bed and bedding was great. Bathroom adequate although can't close door all the way and no fan. The lighting was really good.
The lobby bar is really nice and the staff was great. Paul the bartender was worth the trip alone.
I'd highly recommend this hotel for your next stay in the city.

The London NYC was recommended to us and the location is great. It is an easy walk/stroll to the Theatre District, Central Park, Fifth Avenue, Radio City Music Hall, and Rockefeller Center. You have five star restaurants all around you from Le Brenardin and too many others to mention. Mays for dinner at the London NYC as far as the food was concerned excellent, service very disappointing. Did not have the opportunity to enjoy the high end restaurant London. Breakfast at Mays not so much, service spotty, food under whelming, it is literally night and day as far as the quality of the food. The rooms are all suits, very modern & minimalists, color out the windows and in the room about the same gray. The appointments & furnishing nice. The water pressure in the shower was awesome; it was a delight with the dual shower heads. Bathroom well appointed especially for such a galley style layout. The Staff is helpful, friendly but not at the level of excellence you come to know from places like Four Seasons or St. Regis or Ritz Carlton. Then again, you are not paying those prices in NY for this hotel in this category/rating priced well than others but amenities lacking. The bottom line: London NYC I would recommend especially for its centric location, make sure follow helpful hints.

Room Tip: Make sure if you can upgrade to higher floors get a view of central park, ask for that view too. Go...

This was my second stay at the London. The location is convenient, the rooms are clean & modern and a good size. The bellmen are super helpful and extremely accomodating! My only complaints are: the food is nothing special, and some things have absolutely no taste. The room service has a limited menu and they aren't real creative when you want to add or substitute something. For having a famous chef attached to the restaurants name I expected more.
So I would definitely recommend the hotel! Just not the restaurant or room service.

This is a very nice hotel, great staff, great bar, great restaurant BUT for $600 a night: TINY room, no bottled water in the room, and no tea/coffee making facilities. Guests are obviously expected to go out to a store to buy water and to go to Starbucks for their wake up drink. Also no safe. NO SAFE! In NYC!

...they go for $99 in my local B & Q.

Wake up and smell the coffee The London.

Room Tip: Make sure you order a suite; some rooms are TINY

We love the London Hotel in NYC and stay there often. The lobby is elegant but smallish, with grey marble floors and a beautiful mural of old New York behind the check in counter. The only negative is that they use some kind of strong fragrance in the lobby that I don't love, but that's not a deal breaker for me. There isn't any seating in the lobby, so it's really just a place to pass through on the way to your room.

What I love about the London are the rooms. They are spacious and well appointed, with a separate living and bedroom area. Keep in mind that this is a large hotel room for NYC standards, and anyone who has experienced a tiny New York hotel room/sardine can would really appreciate this place. The rooms are exceptionally quiet, and on the higher floors you can get a nice view of Central Park.

The decor is modern without being cold, and the rooms are decorated in shades of cream, beige, and black. The one pop of color in the room is the sofa in the living area, which is usually some kind of fuschia/pink color. The hubby likes to joke that it feels like the sofa in "Bewitched" that Samantha would sit on inside her genie bottle.

The bathrooms are really lovely, they range from having a tub and separate shower, to rooms with a larger 2 person shower but no tub. The only drawback is that the bathroom doors are the sliding kind that don't seal the way a proper door would; this means that they don't offer much sound buffering. If you are here on a romantic trip, you will want to have the TV volume on LOUD while you use the bathroom (you know what I mean).

My personal preference are the hotel rooms without a bathtub, because the shower is extravagantly large with two shower heads on opposite walls. The shower is so wide that there is no actual shower door or curtain, and you don't have to worry about getting the bathroom floor wet while you bathe.

The Gordon Ramsay restaurant is good but pricey, I highly recommend it for breakfast. They have a major buffet style selection, and often times you can get complimentary breakfasts with your stay (especially if you book through the AMEX travel desk).

The neighborhood is extremely convenient; you're very close to Columbus Circle, Hell's Kitchen, Fifth Avenue, etc... I definitely recommend staying here when you are in New York.

Room Tip: Go for the rooms with a shower and not a bathtub; they have a nicer layout.

The London NYC has much going for it and we highly recommend the Hotel. The Location is simply superb. It is an easy stroll to the Theatre District, Central Park, Fifth Avenue, Radio City Music Hall, Rockefeller Center...and a slew of fabulous restaurants. Don't miss the restaurant in the London as well. The rooms are quite unique, large and furnished with a Mid-Century Modern point of view. The Staff is helpful, friendly but not in an overreaching way. BTW, this is a Five Star Hotel priced much more competitively than others in this bracket. The bottom line: The London will enhance your NY experience.

I think its sad when management and staff think "they are a bit special" - They lose sight of the fact that they are charging a lot of money for a service - If you want something as trivial as a coffee you can order it on room service or pop to the Gordon Ramseys bar or trudge up the street - REALLY Guys... For the love of god... most decent hotels these days provide a cup of coffee or glass of water

Room Tip: Bring your own drinks :-)
