“Big Rooms in a Crowded City”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 December 2013

The rooms are spacious, in fact huge considering the awesome location. Central Park, Broadway, MOMA are all comfortably close. The multi-functional breakfast/dinner/bar Maze room was convenient if you were pressed for time... but best for expense account travellers.

The buffet breakfast had limited selection but the items they put out were of good quality, at least judging by the smoked salmon and fruit. The light night cocktails and bar snacks were very good as well. We skipped the much touted "Gordon Ramsay" as the place had just been stripped of its Michelin stars. Turns out that Ramsay is not involved in the day-to-day running of the restaurants or kitchens but had licensed out his good name. The big benefits of The London NYC are spacious rooms and location. Bonus points for free WIFI.

Always a pleasant stay at The London. It is ideal for those who dislike the buzz and hassle of crowds at lobby floor of big chain hotels. The suites are spacious and the set up makes you feel lesser at a hotel. Breakfast included and food is good. Afterall it's from Gorden Ramsey's kitchen. Staff and services varied occasionally but overall friendly and good.

While location is at a premium The London is a great comfortable hotel in the city. As promised the rooms are all suites. Nice living room area with work desk and space to have some friends over for a visit. This helps as there really isn't a lounge area in the lobby of the hotel. The welcome included bottled water and some delicious truffles. Wifi is always a plus as most hotels charge exorbitant amounts for it. We requested for late checkout and we were given the needed extra hour as we had an international flight to catch. I love the layout of the rooms, spacious bath and walkin closet. This would be my first choice hotel next time I am in the city...

Room Tip: Great restaurants around, a block away from 5th Ave shops...

The London NYC was so great! The staff were the best ! They went out of their way to make our stay fun, exciting and memorable. Having been so spoiled it wouldn't be the same to go anywhere else in NYC! A million thanks!

Room Tip: Spectacular view from top floors.

The first thing that struck me about the NYC was how amazing the staff were. We arrived a couple of hours early and rather than us having to return later, the front desk found a similar room we could check into straight away. The suite was the most spacious I've stayed in and it was both clean and well equipped. Their was very little noise from the outside street and the bed was very comfortable. The location of the NYC in Midtown was a great base and only a short walk from the nearest Subway meant even tired legs can be catered for. The service in the hotel was indeed 5 star and the Chablis is well worth a glass. When we asked to keep the room for three hours after checkout we got it at no extra cost, nothing was a problem. I really can't fault anything and the parting comment from the porter who loaded my bags into the limo of I hope you enjoyed your stay Mr Woodward (when I'd never spoken to him) really just summed up the excellent service here.

The London NYC is a beautiful hotel. The people at the hotel were more than accommodating and our room was nice and pleasant and a good price for the amenities. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in an upscale place in NYC.

We had reserved a large suite, which was nice but lacking a bottle of water for the night. Asking about it, I was told by the senior manager on duty: "You pay for the room, and that is all you get. No water, no extras, no late check-out, just the room. You want anything extra, you pay". When asked about the 30-45 minute wait for the lousy breakfast, he said that this was not his problem. The hotel is for sale and it shows, staff is neither attentive nor client focused. You get a room and that is it. The restaurant is terrible, staff is forgetful or does not speak english, the wait for breakfast is endless and nobody cares. AVOID this hotel, there is better.
