“Fantastic location, helpful staff, comfortable hotel”
Reviewed 21 May 2012

We got on the Airtrain and then the subway from JFK and arrived at the Hilton Garden Inn 45 minutes later! I was impressed, because the subway station is literally below the hotel building. The staff is very helpful and nice. The hotel room is nothing special interior design wise, BUT very clean, spacious enough for two people and it had very comfortable beds and pillows! The complimentary morning coffee in the lobby was really good (there is a coffee maker in the room as well) and if you want a quick bite there is a deli across the street. The hotel is located on the doorstep to Soho and Tribeca - perfect if you want to stay downtown. We changed rooms after the first night since we first got a room facing a brick wall (room 504) and we wanted a bit of light and views (515). We did not hear any traffic while staying in 504, but be prepared for a little big city noise if you get a room facing 6th ave. The only small complaint I have is the lack of a saftybox. Sure you can put your things in the reception/managers office, but it is a hassle for the guests and the. So please Hilton Garden Inn Tribeca get some saftyboxes installed asap! We really enjoyed our five night stay and will be back the next time we are in the best city in the world!

Room Tip: If you want quiet room - choose a room facing the backyard/house. If you want views - choose a room...

I usually stay somewhere in the Times Square area when I visit NYC. We were celebrating my 50th birthday and my daughter's 21st so decided to try a new area. Will never go back to Times Square. The Hilton in TriBeCa is right by (literally) the subway so you can get anywhere fast and easy. The rooms are a nice size by New York standards. Very clean. The staff was incredible. I'm from the south so know hospitality well. These guys were the friendliest, most helpful hotel staff I've ever encountered anywhere, especially Edward who helped us multiple times when we got in a jam because of poor planning on our part. Nice affordable restaurants very close by without the crowds elsewhere in NYC. For Mother's Day we walked to a French restaurant - had mimosas and brunch and were still able to make our afternoon departing flight. Will definitely make this my hotel for all future trips to NYC.

Room Tip: Definitely ask for 5th or 6th floor so you can have a view of TriBeCa

A little off the beaten path in NYC but close enough to walk or catch a ride via subway. The front desk will help with catching a ride if you ask (make sure to tell them your needs). Hotel was decent and clean.

Was here for a couple nights in July 2011. Staff were friendly, location is nice - literally on top of the subway station. Pretty nice area of town - plenty of restaurants if you don't want to go too far. Easy access to the touristy places via subway, etc.

Clean, quiet, centrally located, next to metro, food stores and restaurants right next to it, wall street a 20 mins walk from it, great free cookies and coffee downstairs, and very polite staff. Everything was nice, functioning, clean and comfortable in the room. Highly recommended.

I always make it my mission to not use a taxi while in New York and this hotel easily met the challenge. Aside from being a stone's throw from subway trains, Battery Park City and Chinatown are within walking distance. Pleasant walk to WholeFoods in Tribeca which is open from 7am to 11pm daily (excellent hot bar choices for a quick, inexpensive breakfast, lunch, or dinner). Front desk staff very pleasant and helpful. Yes, the room is small; but, if you're coming to New York planning to spend alot of time in your room then you're coming to the wrong city. Room and bathroom were very clean and the microwave and mini fridge were an added plus. Our request for a quiet room, away from elevators, vending, and street traffic was satisfied the first time around (our typical check in procedure at other hotels involves 2 or 3 attempts at stepping into various rooms before we finally get a quiet room). We were also happy that the room did not smell of room deodorizers, cleansers, or a musty air conditioner (problems we usually encounter at other hotels). Though no real fault of the hotel, our only complaint pertains to the loud conversation and door slamming in the hallway at 2 am and again at 3:30 am, waking us from sleep. As it ceased after a few minutes on both occasions, we decided not to call the front desk. Perhaps some type of sign should be posted for late night partiers, asking them to be considerate of other guest who may be sleeping. At just under $200/night including tax, the hotel is a solid bargain for New York standards. As we travel to New York several times each year, we will definitely return to this hotel.

This is a great location within walking distance of Chinatown and Little Italy, great food downstairs in the sports bar. Subway half block out the door makes getting around even easier. The rooms are small but very well kept, the air beds are amazing! When traveling to NY take the subway, ask if your not sure but use it, its fun, safe and easy. One of the best locations if you like to walk around central part of the city.
