The hotel is in a great location, perfect for sightseeing. Not far from Times Square, Macys and Madison Square Garden. Staff in the reception are very helpful, friendly and pleasant. Room was very clean and the free wifi was excellent, after initial problems on the first day. The only negatives were that we did not have a good view, but this did not spoil our stay and there was a heating vent right outside our door which was a bit noisy. Also the heating unit in the room was very loud so we had to turn it off during the night which made it a bit cold. We stayed 4 nights and all in all was a positive experience and I wouln't hesitate to come back again when I next visit New York.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on a high floor

Enjoyed my stay at this Hilton property. Had booked about two months in advance, and was one of the lowest rates for Hiltons in NYC. Overall, had a very nice stay. Very comfortably sized rooms - quite a bit larger than the typical NYC hotel.

Location: A bit off the beaten path. Surrounded by interesting wholesale Flower brokers and other unique merchandise shops. Easy walk East or West for a plethora of amazing restaurants from very high end, to inexpensive diners. You'll need to taxi it to get to the Broadway shows, or other main attractions. About a five to ten minute walk to Penn Station and the Amtrak railcation station.

Check In: Odi helped me check in and was very polite; helped me get settled with the benefits of this location. They do have a HHonors breakfast which I didn't try. As well as a nice sweet snack at check in, and Keurig coffee maker in the lobby as well as in each room.

Restaurant/Bar: No restaurant onsite but heavier snacks and room service via the nearby Mustang Sallys. The onsite lobby bar was a pretty active destination at night. Drinks were over priced but convenient - very upbeat and attentive staff.

Room: Again; nicer Hilton amenities; newer flat screen TV with tons of stations; in room coffee; nice linens and tolieties. Views were pretty basic - faced a row of condos, etc. Some rooms may have Empire State views - but this may also be a myth.

Minuses:
-48 Hour instead of normal 24 Hour change in reservation policy. Was looking to update my check in date when I came across this - not sure why this location does this - would greatly deter me from staying again. If I wanted a unchangeable reservation, I'd just book on Priceline.

-Upgrade = room I paid for. Sort of lame that at check in, it was noted that I'd gotten the upgraded room requested - but it was really just the regular room I paid for, with the request for a higher level. It's fine if you can't upgrade a HHonors Gold member, but please just be honest about it.

-Elevator: Was fine for me except at check out. Other review noted a slow ride; I ended up having to walk down 16 stories in the AM; along with a few other folks that AM. Asked staff about it and they seemed in denial. One staff was busy helping a few folks haul their luggage down.

Room Tip: Ask for Empire State view - try to work the HHonors standing. Who knows, it may work for you.

Great place and close to Penn station as well as subway stops. Newer hotel with typical amenities.

I booked last minute through orbitz and didn't get points credit to my HHonors (surprised upon check-in!!!) and found just as good deal, if not better, on Hilton website. Buyer beware, buyer be savvy.

Room was clean and quiet, bed was comfy, room was dark, water was hot, price was right. What more does one need for 1 night?

I had a wonderful time staying at the Hilton Garden Inn NYC Chelsea. They were beyond accommodating and very friendly. This hotel gives Southern hospitality a run for its money! Fair rates for exceptional room size (for NY) and service! I would highly recommend staying here if you want to be close to time square, but don't want to pay an outrageous price!

this is one of the better "budget" hotels in chelsea. the lobby is spacious and comfortable. it's a place where you can legitimately hang out and not feel like you're on top of other guests. The service is friendly and accommodating. the room was pretty spacious but the heater was not easily controlled so my room was hot. But overall I'd recommend it as a place to stay if you want a well located, basic budget hotel in chelsea.

Perfect location, 15 min. walking distance to Times Square and Empire State Building, 10 min to Penn Station and Madison Square Garden.
Rooms are spacious, clean and silent (at least from the 15th floor upwards). Some rooms have view to ESB, some to the new WTC tower.
Friendly and helpful staff.
AC unit noise is the only minus.
