I booked this hotel one month in advance for 109$/night with king size bed.

Our room was nice and very clean. The staff at the hotel are very helpful.

Free wireless internet was a nice bonus.

Subway is 1/2 a block, and Penn Station is within walking distance. I would absolutly stay here again.

I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights in January 2010. The Check In was the best we have ever had in a HGI. The people were very friendly and helpful. Great Staff!!! Our room was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. We had a LCD Flatscreen with over 200 channels. Unbelievable! The breakfast near the Lobby was very fresh and tasteful. The Hotel is located only 4 streets away from the NY Penn Station. The only negative thing was, that we booked a room with Empire State View. But we couldn't see anything from this building. We had Room Number 2108. So, if you are looking for a very nice and clean Hotel with a great staff at the Front Desk, Restaurant and Housekeeping you should book this hotel!

Stayed here from Xmas through New Years, mostly because of the price and trip advisor reviews. Couldn't have asked for a better hotel to stay at during this time, especially if using subways to get around.

Calm amidst the madness during this time. Very close to everything, but enough removed so you have peace and quiet to relax and sleep. In hindsight glad we did not closer to Times Square/Rockefeller. "Touristy areas" were just madness during this time.

Paid $170 a night during the busiest time of the year. No other hotel could come CLOSE to this. Boy did they deliver!!!

Perfect location - Close to 3 major subway lines. 1 block from 1,9 and N, R, W subway lines. 4 easy blocks from B, D, F, N, Q, R, V, W. Easy walking to Penn Station, Madison Square Garden, Herald Square, Empire State Building, Macy's, Flat Iron District. Couple subway stops from Times Square, Rockefeller, Union Square. Drug stores couple blocks away. McDonalds and many eateries very close by.

5 star friendly staff - Staff was extremely welcoming and hospitable. Went out of there way to help. Met every need we had and was gracious no matter what hour. Welcomed you in and wished you a good day as you left. Entire staff from cleaning to front desk to management would greet you in hallways ask how your day was. Incredible! Small hotel makes it feel cozy and personable. Service better than 4 and 5 star hotels we have stayed at.

Clean Rooms/Good Amenities and Facilities - Extremely clean rooms, comfortable beds, MICROWAVE + REFRIGERATOR. Extremely helpful for stay in NYC. Room is more than big enough for NYC. Free wifi, more than adequate workout facilities always stocked with clean towels and water. Timely room cleaning. Smaller hotel made it easy to get in and out.

Misc:
-Could hear doors from adjacent rooms closing loudly.
-Could hear people in hallway coming to and from rooms.
-As others have mentioned area shuts down at night because it is in flower district. However, felt safe walking to and from subway and to close tourist areas even at late night (Madison Square Garden, Herald Square, Penn Station, Korea Town, Empire State Building, etc.).
-Lot of international visitors while we were there. Probably 9 out of 10 we met in the hotel were international. All VERY friendly!

Would 100 percent recommend this hotel and WILL stay here again. No question.

I planned a trip to New York City for New Years 2009-2010 for my son's 21st birthday. Not knowing much about the hotels in New York I depended on the location and the reviews when I chose this hotel...I want everyone to know it was the best choice!!! We arived late on the night of the 30th...the front desk people were pleasant and right there to get our lugage. Check in was fast and done with a smile the whole time. We were taken to our rooms and when the door opened the light was on and the rooms was so enviting. It was so clean and looked like they had just redecorated just for our visit. The all you can eat breakfast was WONDERFUL! and held us until out New Years Eve dinner! The front desk people were alwasy there to answer any questions about where to go in the city or where the best place to catch a cab to hold 5 people was. The hotel was just far enough away from the New Years Eve hubbub, yet close enough that we were able to walk to time square to join the other million people who had come into the city. Or check out on New Years Day was quick and once again done with a smile.

I will deffinently go back to this hotel and will tell eveyone I know that this is the place to stay!

My husband, two teen daughters, and I stayed at this hotel for two nights. As Hilton Honors members, our room and breakfast were free. Our room was ready and on time and clean, the young lady at check-in was helpful with my questions about two restaurants in the area, and the staff was quite friendly. The hotel breakfast was quite good, and we were able to order freshly-made omelets along with the pancakes, bacon, muffins, etc. The one bad thing about this hotel is the amount of street noise, which we heard a lot of since it overlooked 28th street. Trash was picked up at 11:30 Monday night, and there is a very large spot of uneven pavement which causes a racket when cars/trucks, etc. travel over it. Also, there are several early-opening floral businesses across the street. A plus is that it is easy to walk to Macy's and other shops, as well as to the Theodore Roosevelt house on E. 20th Street. All in all, I would stay at this hotel again.

I stayed here with my girlfriend from 5th-12th December and enjoyed every minute. The decor of the room was nice, big bathroom, good air-con/heating etc. The service was excellent and all staff were genuinely nice and friendly. We came from Newark airport and got the train to Penn Station. The hotel is literally 5 minutes walk away. Subway stops nearby, close to Times Square and close enough to walk to Greenwich Village.

I will definitley stay here for my next trip - I recommend you do!

I stayed at the Hilton Garden in several times this year. It is a very comfortable hotel and the staff is extremely helpful. I like the microwave and fridge in the room that is not filled with mini bar items. The beds are relatively comfortable, as much as a Hilton. It feels like a more intimate hotel than other Hilton properties in NYC (Millennium Hilton, Hilton NY) as the lobby is much smaller and you won't be surrounded by convention goers. The staff is always friendly and greets you when you walk in the door. I would say most of the people who stay there seem like tourists. The gym is reasonably clean if small and usually empty in the morning which is unusual for a business hotel
