“I loved this Hotel!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 October 2010

I loved this Hotel! I stayed there for a total of 8 nights summer. *(4 nights one week, loved it, booked again for the next week ).
First of all, I loved where it was located, super close to FIT. It was in a very convenient area to drugstores, restaurants- (Mustang Sallys one of our faves)
It was very clean and nicely decorated, everybody that I encountered who worked there was very, very helpful and gracious. Kudos to ALL of them!
It was nice to have a microwave and a fridge in the room. Comuter room was great to have to check on emails and look up tourist info...

Stayed here with friends over an extended September weekend. The hotel is very close to koreatown. It is about 5 blocks from madison square garden and penn station and is 1 block away from subway stations for the N, R, 1, and 2 lines.

Initially I was a bit skeptical when my friends booked this hotel as all the respectable hotels in manhattan were going for 360-430/night. The hilton garden inn was advertising 320/night was made me suspicious. However, staying at this hotel has swung my opinion and makes a great steal for the money-concious traveler. The hotel has a business center equipped with internet access computers and even a printer that is free for guests. The hotel requires you to swipe your hotel keycard after midnight at the front door, which is a plus for security.

The room was a little cramped which is standard for NYC. We got 2 double beds for 4 adults total. The room had a flatscreen TV and an empty refrigerator for storing leftover food. The bathroom was very nice and didn't feel cramped. I'm glad the rooms had more room dedicated to the bathroom than the actual room instead of the other way around.

For the night owls, there is a rooftop lounge called 230 5th avenue that is about a 6 block walk from the hotel.

This hotel is a great bargain for those wanting to stay in manhattan, but wanting to avoid the pricy hotels in times square.

I booked this hotel for a week's vacation based on previous TripAdvisor reviews and I wasn't disappointed!

This hotel is close to 2 subway lines and is located mid-town. The front desk staff were extremely courteous and helpful! The room was clean and the housekeeping service was excellent as well. We made use of the mini-frdge and used it to store some breakfast items that we picked up. Nice bathroom...great shower head.

One complaint was that I was not able to use the internet on my laptop in my room. However, they had 2 computers downstairs that we could use anytime. Also, as mentioned by others, the restaurant and bar service was pricey, but there are lots of alternate choices nearby.

We enjoyed our stay here since the location is great for getting around the area and the staff were very courteous and helpful. We were on the 10th floor, on the back side of the hotel, so street noise was not a problem for us. However, hall noise was another story. There was really no way to close the door without it almost slamming, so any time anyone came in and out of their room on the floor (only a few rooms per floor), you heard it. We tried to sleep in one morning, but that was hard to do with the doors slamming all around. Also, the bed in our room had big dips in it on each side, but we didn't realize it until coming in late the first night so we didn't feel like asking to switch rooms at that point. Luckily, we were tired enough after walking around each day to sleep in spite of the sorry bed. The breakfast is good, but we had free certificates for it since my husband is a Hilton Honors Diamond member, so I can't say if it's a good value. We used HH points for the stay, so we were pleased overall. If we had been paying, I think I would have been more insistent on finding a room with a better bed.

If you need a hotel with a great location and staff, stay here--it's great for those things.

We actually stayed there last May but had to give a date, so we thought the hotel was really good value as it is right in the middle of things and everything was only a short walk or a subway ride away.We are going there again in 10 days for a week and are sorry to here that there are renovations going on, but we hope they won't be too intrusive. The plants on the street are put out every morning and put away at night , we used to have a giggle at the amount of work it was for the poor buggers that had to shift them!!!. Staff were really good and deserve all the tips you can give them

A well located hotel (close to metro station and short walk form Penn station) in Manhattan. Location quiet and safe. Staff very effective (quick checkin) and helpful. Rooms (although small, but it is standard in NYC), well decorated (coffee maker, refrigerator, microwave oven). Room and bathroom clean. The only problem is the noisy air-conditioning. I recommend this hotel especially for leisure trips - the price is reasonable compared with other hotels in NYC

This hotel is in a good location with subway stations close by to anywhere you would want to go and easy walking to greenwich, Chelsea & meatpacking district. Most staff were really pleasant and helpful however you could come across some pretty disinterested front desk staff overnight - especially when we checked in at 2am. The rooms are adequate with comfy beds and nice linen although the air conditioning is certainly on the noisy side. The free wifi could drive you to distraction on the 14th floor dropping out all the time and would not be good if you were trying to work. The construction noise was not continual but when it was outside the window in the morning it was an extremely painful wake up call!!! Given the price compared to other NYC hotels it appeared to be good value in a good location to explore NYC and no traffic noise on the 14th floor! . We never went to the restaurant but it didn't look like much was going on in there- plenty of options around the hotel to eat & drink.
