“Spanish food in a warm, buzzy atmosphere”
Reviewed 26 March 2014 via mobile

I stumbled across this bar/restaurant having walked around a large block of Soho desperately seeking a place to sit down and eat something tasty. Boqueria is pretty much open from late morning to late evening. I have eaten there twice since landing in New York a week ago. The staff are attentive, great choice of wines (on the pricier end but the norm for NYC), many available by the glass at $14-18. The food menu has around a dozen specials plus a range of tapas dishes. I had an amazing hanger steak, cut into strips, with some mild peppers encrusted in salt. At $18 it was between entree and main course size and could easily be shared between 2 people.

“Good tapas, great service”
Reviewed 23 March 2014

We popped int to Boquerias more than anything because we needed a spot to use the loo while shopping down in SoHo. I'm glad we chose this spot because their patatas bravas were to die for. Their gambas al ajillo and all the other traditional tapas were spot on as well. The service was phenomenally quick which was nice.

The food never disappoints a must whenever I am in the city. Went with people who had never been before and they were bowled over. The lamb was to die for. Great atmosphere, service brilliant. Absolutely loved it

“Great food”
Reviewed 22 March 2014

We had lunch here on a Friday at about noon. Food is great. This was our second time. My husband had the lamb. I had the shishito peppers which were larger than what I was expecting and a bit more spicy but delicious. We also had an egg and potato dish that was super and filling. Only weird thing was that I ordered the spinach and garbanzo beans and was told that it wasnt available because the spinach just arrived and it wasnt clean? Guess its best they didnt serve it. We both had different types of sangria. Very fresh.

“Nice re-creation of Barcelona tapas”
Reviewed 8 March 2014

Went on a busy Friday night, about 7pm Got our name on the wait list for a table, 45 min, but ended up at the bar (1st come 1st serve) after waiting about 10 minutes. Cozy, busy, noisy, great tapas. Nice selection of spanish wines by the glass, but a bit overpriced. Tapas items very good. We tried sliced scallops (cold app), fried cauliflower, bacon wrapped dates phenomenal, grilled squid excellent, and my fav. The place reminded me of a typical Barcelona tapas place, just not quite the caliper of culinary offerings.
