This is classic, rather old fashioned hotel,so you can not expect brand new stylish room.
But the location beats everything...
And their food court was fun, since it's not so common to find good food court in US.

Stayed in the Edwardian Suite on our wedding night. The decor was dated and worn (book ends were chipped, light shades frayed, etc.), our "butler" never showed up, and breakfast was not included in the price. Definitely not worth the over $1,000/night price! My wife and I made the best of it but would never stay in the Plaza again.

The worldly renowned plaza hotel must be visited at least once in a lifetime. The opulence of the hotel can make even an Oligarch jealous. Super is top notch as to be expected from for a hotel of this caliber. Location is unprecedented for NYC. More expensive then my car but worth it. I will go back as soon as I win the sweepstakes. Thank you for accommodating me.

The Plaza is an amazing place to be. We got a suite. My kids loved the room...especially the bathroom. It was absolutely beautiful. I would join the Fairmont Loyalty Program, so you can get free internet in the room. It's free to join.

The hotel is decorated gorgeous, chandeliers and gold faucets. We chose the 2 story balcony suite located on the top floor. It was very nice. The main closet space is located on the first floor while the bedroom is upstairs. The center of the first floor had a sofa bed with pocket doors for closing off, which was nice for our daughter except the mattress was terrible. There is a sofa bed in the living room as well. Has a wet bar, fridge, and a microwave. But disappointed with no coffee pot. We are big coffee drinkers and no where to get coffee except room service for $10 +taxes and tips, or walk to starbucks or wait till a place in the plaza shops to open at 8. The main bedroom mattress was very comfortable. The showers were nice, and the balcony was nice to have. Couldn't see anything but the surrounding buildings but it was nice to sit out there and look at the sky. The location was nice, walked in Central Park a couple times for some quiet time. Close to shopping as well. It is a nice, classy hotel but I do think it is over priced. We always wanted to stay there so we did. Employees were nice, the housekeeper was a sweetheart. We had butler service with our room. No idea who he was, didn't need a butler for anything. Some door men were great, others were chatting with each other and didn't even acknowledge us. It is a great place, but would probably try some place different next time.

Room Tip: the terrace room was nice

This was my wife's 'must do' activity on our honeymoon and it didn't disappoint. Although difficult to get to with 5th avenue being blocked off by a parade it was certainly worth being sent often the wrong way by NYPD's finest when we finally got there. We were booked into the Palm Court restaurant for lunch having e-mailed the reservation in advance explaining that it was our honeymoon and my wife had been looking forward to it. We were treated fantastically by the staff who reserved us an amazing table. The food was superb and the setting even better. When it came to pay the bill and leave there was a slight delay but only because the staff had prepared some complimentary deserts with 'Congratulations' written on the plate. This attention to detail on a booking made via e-mail, by two overly excited newlyweds, months in advance where hundreds had subsequently been through their door illustrated the reputation of true class the Plaza has and undoubtedly deserves. Thank you to all the staff.
Regards
Two still excited newlyweds

I stayed at the Plaza in a Deluxe Rose Suite for three nights this June. The room was incredible, over 700 square feet lavishly decorated. Unfortunately, there were several service issues that are simply unacceptable for a top hotel charging top dollar. There are only three tiny elevators servicing the entire hotel; the first night one of the elevators was out of service which left wait times long. The Plaza no longer offers a complementary Rolls Royce car service; now, they offer a BMW 700 series but they only have one driver who always seemed to be on break when we wanted the car and stopped working by 9 p.m. This is New York, the night is just getting started at 9 p.m. Furthermore, the doormen were often completely absent. If you look at other hotels like The Pierre or the Ritz, the doormen are always present. Finally, we did not receive turn-down service one evening and our room was in disrepair. Overall, the service leaves you wanting for a hotel that is actually one of New York's greats rather than one that once was and is now too cheap to bother to be. Think about staying elsewhere if impeccable service is important to you.
