Went to the Cooper's tavern after my graduation in MSG. The ambience overall was not bad. Service was good. But the food was absolutely great!!! Even though the restaurant was advertised as American, it serves Italian cuisine. I'm not a big fan of Italian food, but this restaurant made it delicious.

My family and I (five adults, three children) enjoyed pleasant dinner. Restaurant not really ser up for children even though restaurant is function of the hotel (The New Yorker). No children's menu, no booster seats or high chairs. Having said that, the staff, who really lack personality, did a good job accommodating us. Food was tasty but not cheap....but it's NYC....you should expect that. I'd refer others there.

Recently ate dinner here as we were staying at the New Yorker. The food was fine but service was not. The staff didn't look like they wanted to be there and were not welcoming. Wouldn't recommend this restaurant.

Met a friend for dinner. We had not seen each other in a while so this was a great place to catch up over a very good meal. We ate at a table alongside the windows in front of the restaurant and watched the world go by. Very good dinner, good wine and a great place for conversation.

We ate here last night and I ordered a Chicken Caesar Salad. How difficult could that be? Apparently, it's not easy. They served the chicken on a sizzling side plate, very nice presentation. Unfortunately, the chicken was overcooked and tasteless. They brought a replacement plate quickly and pleasantly but, while it was no longer overcooked, it was still tasteless. The service was good, the location is great if you're coming from Penn Station but I wasn't impressed.
