We stayed at this hotel for a week in April to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. The staff were very pleasant and always helpful. The decor is very pleasing and although a fairly small hotel it had plenty of seating for you to have a drink and watch the world go by. This was particularly pleasant during the complimentary wine hour every day. The room was a fair size with a view of the Empire State Building. The bathroom was small but adequate. Everything was clean. Beware that all the food and drink in the room must be paid for. The hotel is in an excellent position for all the sites. One block down and two across from the Empire State Building. One block from the subway. We managed to walk to most attractions, only using the subway to get to the financial district.

Room Tip: Our room was a corner room on the top floor which meant it was quiet but with a view.

Just stayed at the Roger for a week. Found the hotel comfortable and clean in a great midtown location. The staff were helpful and happy to assist in any way they could.

The only negatives are noise related from within the hotel itself. The air-conditioning in our room was too noisy to use at night as it would have kept us awake, this means that at this time of year you have the choice between being cool and awake, or too hot and awake. The self-closers to the adjoining rooms make the doors slam shut, this is very loud!

Most humorously, our neighbours for a few days liked to "get passionate" at about 5am each morning. They were obviously enjoying themselves as at one point I thought the TV was going to fall off the wall!

I'd have no problem staying here agin, though I'd probably ask not be given a room next to a honeymooning couple!

We stayed for our 15th Wedding Anniversary and it was a lovely 3 night stay April 22nd. A scent of beautiful blooms greeted us as we arrived. Zack checked us in and offered us a complimentary glass of champagne. The lobby is stylish, friendly and has a small bar where guests gather for free wine hour in the early evening. Our room was quite high up just below the penthouse and had view of the Empire State Building. The room had tasteful decor and was much larger than expected. The bed was SUPER comfy and HUGE with excellent quality linen and pillows. The bathroom was tiny but it was perfectly functional. I would definitely stay again. Loved the location so close to Madison Square Park we nipped over for a burger at Shakeshack the night we arrived. Close to Grand Central, Public Library, Rockerfeller and Fifth Ave for Tiffanys and great shops in one direction. And Empire State and Macys in the other direction within a few blocks. 2 mins from 33rd St subway.

I stayed at the Roger for my first time and didn't expect much since it was so reasonably priced (for NYC standards anyway) but was very pleasantly surprised by everything! The employees were helpful and friendly, my room was bigger than expected, the hotel was tastefully (and adorably) decorated, and the location was perfect. My husband and I very much enjoyed our stay and will return to the Roger for all future trips.

This hotel offers superb accommodation, and excellent customer service.
Our visit started out on the left foot - a late arrival due to weather delays and when we arrived at the
Roger, we were faced with an unfortunate need to be redirected to a 'sister' hotel due to an unfinished air conditioning repair in the room we had booked. But the assistant front office manager, Zach, bent over backward to make sure we were OK with the problem. He sat us down in the bar with complimentary wine and an exquisite cheese tray while our alternate arrangements were finalized. The first night (at the other location) was complimentary! Our room was ready when we returned in the morning and we enjoyed a delicious, fresh, and complimentary breakfast buffet at the Roger. We were greeted like family throughout our stay - and welcomed back after each day's excursions. Our room was well appointed, spacious, and immaculate. Front door staff attentively catered to our needs for taxi service and luggage throughout. Even the wait in the lobby was a pleasure - the apple tree branches in the huge bouquet held off their amazing display for our final day - a delightful memory of a lovely hotel in New York City. We will return!

Love this hotel. The rooms are larger than you'd find in the typical NYC boutique hotel and have all the amenities (robes, mini-bar, etc.). The staff are friendly and super helpful. Subway is a block away. Excellent sushi place on the side street. No noise issues. Just a great place to stay in NYC.

We had an amazing time at the Roger, everything was perfect! The position is very good, central but very quiet, the rooms are cozy , clean and fully equipped, the only bad thing is the width but on the other hand you have a huge and very comfortable bed, an amazing view on Madison Ave and a very good service. The front desk staff is very very kind and professional: we had a big problem with the travel agency that reserved the room, which could ruin our holiday, but the whole staff had been so nice, patient and helpfull with us. So they not only helped but tried to reassure us and make us feel home. They treated us with complimentary breakfast, champagne and a huge kindness and comprehension that eased the worries of the initial and annoying problem with the travel agency. So thank you again! Ciao from Italy!
