El Quinto Pino in Chelsea is well worth a visit for Tapas. My daughter, who lived for a while in Spain, considers it to be one of her favorites in NYC because of the authenticity of the dishes. I would especially recommend the Pimientos and the Bravas, but everything was delicious.
The restaurant is small, but does not feel crowded, and the noise level was high enough to make the atmosphere lively, but not so loud as to make conversation difficult.
The staff was friendly, efficient and helpful.
For New York, I would consider the restaurant to be moderately priced. Our bill came to a little over $20 per person, not including drinks or tip. I find it a bit too easy to get carried away with tapas, so I could have easily spent more, but my companions kept me in check.
I would not hesitate to recommend El Quinto Pino, and I look forward to a return visit. Note: I reserve 5 stars for truly stellar, once in a lifetime dining experiences.
