Went for a business lunch with two other people. Originally we had wanted to sit outside but it was too muggy. Inside was quite nice with a modern touch.
The greeter was a bit cold and distant, but the server was spectacular and the waitstaff in general were quite attentive.
We ordered 2 cold mezzo and 5 hot mezzo to share. They recommended 2 to 3 per person and that seems about right. We were all comfortably full with 7 for three people.
For cold we had the hummus with lamb and the Kibbeh naye beirutieh (steak tartare). Both were excellent, but the tartare was spectacular. You use the onions to pick up some of the tartare and then add mint and radish... delicious!
All the hot mezzo were really good, although we all thought the falafel was a true home run. Two of us really liked the Brussel sprouts (a house special) but the third person felt the temperature was off (sort of room temperature). Nice char on the sprouts.
Although I personally did not love the kebab kerez, one of the people at lunch raved about the cherry sauce. Said it was perfection. I thought it was great, but I preferred some of the other dishes.
The Phoenician fries were ok and the octopus was a bit disappointing compared to the other dishes. Not sure why, but it was not as flavorful.
All in all we loved the variety and thought all of the dishes were worth ordering. Would go back in a heartbeat.
