We did this as part of our new York pass, so it was free(included). Would have been disappointed if we paid for it out of pocket, but generally enjoyed it.

Anne, our tour guide, was really nice, enjoyed her perspective and tour. We felt like meeting a rocketed felt a little awkward. Overall very fun!

Having been to The Secret Policeman's Ball at Radio City Hall the night before, we couldn't resist going back for a closer look at this amazing theatre. Tickets are purchased from the Gift Shop next door, and tours seem to run every 15 mins from 11am to 3pm (except show days). Tour was excellant and gave access to all areas including an opportunity to stand on the huge stage, and see the hydraulics that drive the various lifts and turntables that form part of the stage. You also get to see a number of other private rooms aswell as all the public areas. You even get to meet and have your photo taken with a real Rockette. The building is exquisite throghout - beautiful aluminium scultures, original art deco elevators and rest rooms with original 1930's fixtures and furniture, brass relief door panels etc. Definately well worth a visit - and if you can, catch a show as well.

Wonderful building, and was great to get a bit of history on it. What spoiled it for me is that you get people who ask inane questions or dont stop talking. The host I found was pleasant though my partner didnt. Not mind blowing, but worth a wee look.

Very interesting tour. Great history of the building as well as the famous Rockettes. Have your walking shoes ready. Lots of stairs.

This tour is twice as interesting as it used to be: renovations have been completed, so you can see the art in the lower lobby, and the actual elevator equipment (once guarded by the U.S. gov't) that lifts the main stage. There is a great new video that explains the backstage and stage-movement mechanisms. The highlight is getting to meet and ask a few questions of a real Rockette. The lady who spoke to us was poised, articulate, professional, and gracefully answered some very tough questions from some teenage girls on the tour. We were impressed! All students in our group were NOT bored and I would recommend this for all ages. You do have to climb several flights of stairs, and get to spend time backstage.
